Xbox live problem

    I am having a problem with the DNS... can anyone help me with this?

    Yeah... be more specific. Also, how are you connecting to live? Cat 5 cable or wireless adaptor?

    Alright well, it's a modem box that I can connect with a cable. now, it's not a 360, it's just a regular Xbox and it keeps saying that "The DNS servers could not be reached." and I've entered all the DNS server info and done the cmd thing on my computer and input it that way

    and it offers two reason's why:

    1.) "If your Xbox console is connected directly to your modem (Which it is), verify the DNS servers settings match the settings provided by your ISP"

    Already did that. didn't work.

    2.) "If your Xbox console is connected to a router, verify the DNS servers settngs are set to automatic."

    Already did that too... didn't work... I just got some other reason why it wasn't working.
