I dont think that kids should be watching those shows now because now alot more wrestlers are dying out of steroids and drug overdose and such and the show is getting WAY TO VIOLENT! when i was babysitting the kid i babysit was watching it (only 3) then a wrestlers hair GOT TORN OUT! so i switched the channel so you guys think it is ok for kids umm i dunno like 1-9 to watch this?

I don't watch that stuff at all. I'm actually pretty squeamish. If it's not my blood then I dont want to see it, I'm not even sure if there is a lot of blood there but I have no clue.

But I don't think kids should be watching it at age 3!!! If its something that they can mimik than it really should be iffy.

I usually avoid intelligent discussion, but this thread caught my eyes.

    1. No wrestler had died from steroids. Chris Benoit died from a mental breakdown, this has been proven. Eddie Gurrerro died from past drug abuse, it had been many years before it actually caught up to him. He stopped, it's not his fault that he died from something he got over.

    2. Yes, it is fine. I watched wrestling when I was 4 years old and never stopped. It's entertainment. I now think a kid shouldn't be watching wreslting until there probably 6-8 though. It's not much of a stretch from 3 years old, but I turned out to be quite an intelligent person even though I watched it at 4. With the stuff going on lately, 6-8 should be enough. There are plenty of role models on WWE as well. Cena, as much as I hate him, he's a good role model for kids. So is CM Punk. It's just entertainment and isn't any different from cartoons of kids getting weapons, etc...

<_< Wrestling is all staged, but I think it's okay to watch this kinda of stuff (if they're small). Yeah, you should grow out of it in a while, or soon, but as long as your not 'doing it at home' you should be fine.

I don't like it, never have never will and I won't let my kids watch it if I ever have any. I don't think it's good in any form because it could be repeated by younger kids who don't know it's not something they should be doing.

I watched wrestling often when growing up and my dad told me from the beginning it was fake. We used to roughhouse sometimes and play, and he'd teach me some of the moves for 'real' wrestling and it was fun. Though I don't feel it really had any adverse affects on me, a kid 3 years old probably shouldn't watch it. Maybe age 6 to 8 is more appropriate, as someone mentioned formerly, because then they are old enough to comprehend it's all fake, which was drilled into my head by a respectable parent. I wouldn't want a kid going to pre-kindergarten things and hurting another child because he or she thought it was something to do. However, 6 to 8, depending on the child's mentality seems like a good age if they want to watch it. Some of the wrestlers are nice people out of the ring too. We always hear the negative stuff but not about the good things some of them have done.

I remember about 7 years ago when there was a sudden wrestling fad in my school. All the ******ed guys would try to imitate it and it would usually end in tears. 9_9

Same thing goes for the show Jackass, actually.

But they do say stuff like 'don't try this at home' and all that. So it's not the show's fault that people imitate it. It's the parents choice to let them watch it..

    Agreed.

    This made me lol...

This is called 'sheltering' kids. Never has a good effect on them...

Thank you for being one of the few people who realizes the difference between staged and fake.

For you people that think it is ALL FAKE, its not, the injuries that the superstars get are REAL. But, they are professionals, if you are un-trained and you do these things, you will get injured quite easily.

As for it being bad for little children to watch, I beg to differ, I think that if there are other shows that are equally or MORE violent on TV and kids watch those, then I think that it would be fine for them to watch wresting, as long as they know that the superstars are all professionals and that they should never do anything they see on TV.

As for the out-of-ring things that happen, I think that it isnt apporpriate for children under 10.
Recently, Vince McMahon has staged his death. Of course when I saw his limo explode, I knew that it was not real, they made it way too dramatic. There have been other incidents of giant wrestlers (Kane, Gene Snitsky, and The Great Khali) that have harmed a woman, or attempted to, and of course, that is udderly wrong, things like that can have really bad influences on childeren. So, I think that you should listen to what the TV says. See the rating, "TV 14", obey.

well....i heard about something called a "V Chip" or something like that. i heard it somehow blocks out any shows you dont' want. like if it was PG-13 or you can choose specific shows. i think those would help parents alot.

Yeah, using 'fake' back there when I spoke before was a misnomer. I should have used 'staged' as it is acting but the moves still are potentially very harmful and even with their training, accidents can happen etc. Wrestling is also a real sport, and the ones who do it as sport can be really incredible. By 'real' sport I mean without the acting added in and the Olympic stuff.

I did know Vince McMahon's death was fake though because it was not on the regular news and no investigations were done as would happen in a regular scene like that. It was said briefly and he is world renown so..just didn't make sense to me.

Wow, another wrestling-intelligent person on here besides me. Congrats, you win at life.

    Agreed with second paragraph.

Third paragraph, not so much. How is thta any different than the good vs. evil stuff that all kids come to know? I've never seen a face like John Cena or Shawn Micheals, who all the kids cheer for because they are basically the hero in the story lines, do that stuff. They boo the bad guy for doing that stuff. I think it sorts out morals.

Depends on who's watching it. If it's a person who's 6+ and is in a Karate class and has KNOWLEDGE in fighting, I can't argue with why they shouldn't.

However, if it's just a kid who's your every day school kid, he might imitate it at school or something. It could result in harmful things. However, I for one don't think TV affects children or people in general in that aspect.

It's entertainment, not "go out and replay!"

Actually, more recently the crowd is split over John Cena, some people boo, and some people cheer.

The team that gets the most crowd attention is "Cryme Tyme". What they do, is steal things, and sell them, obviously against the law and bad for young children to see.
    Think Kurt Angle.
    Its called Tivo.

    I repped you for that.

First off, I love WWE. Try to catch it as much as I can. It does shock me though by how some parents bring their kids to watch. I mean, kids in 1st grade, 2nd grade...

I do agree that it is a tad bit too violent for kids. Due to the two casulties and violence...I don't think kids should see it at all. Too young. >.>

But if someone DARES cancel WWE, I will drown them in lawsuits.

    Cena FTW. >D
