everytime I paste a sprite onto my template in PS, it always has this black border. yea...that black background/border thingy around link...how do I get rid of it so the character will blend with the background...
It's because you're copying and pasting [assuming the image you copied was transparent to begin with]. You'll have to save the image, then open it up into Photoshop.
