Is this allergy uncommon? It really sucks....

No, I know quite a few people who are unable to eat Gluten, don't worry, you're not alone.

Im sorry to hear that you gotta' give up stuff you like, but it's for your own good so you will just have to accept it. Sounds harsh but just think.. It could be miles worse.

    Wait-a-sec.

    Exactly how old are you?

Wouldn't you find out about this as soon as you got off the baby food?

Oh, and that sucks. Is is a bad reaction?

In some cases, you find out about allergies later on in life. I wasn't allergic to peas/beans/peppers till I was in my early teens. But quite often, allergies die out before puberty. Still it's not too uncommon that the opposite happens, and you get more and more of them.

I also know quite many people with gluten-allergy. And I agree, allergies in general suck. 3:

I only know one person who is allergic to gluten. How do you compensate for the lost nutrients?

Allergies suck and yeah, having an allergy to gluten isn't one of the allergies I'd want. You can however I believe still eat meats, fruits and vegetables.

You might want to explore different grains and starches as some are gluten free. Here's a good site that lists off quite a bit of things you can eat and things you should avoid. http://www.gicare.com/pated/edtgs06.htm so maybe that will help you out some.

This is a really hard allergy to have to adjust to but if you do, it may help you feel better than you do now and you might see that you had symptoms from it. Right now it seems the allergy is mild so you might get away with some gluten now and then, but just be careful with it as allergies have a tendency to get worse if you try to keep doing what your body says it doesn't want you to. Good luck and I hope things work out for you.

I haven't heard of that before but that doesn't mean it's uncommon.
I'm allergic to sugar(not debates), which sucks way more than you.
And my sister is allergic to chocolate.
I have to watch what I eat so I don't get sick.
Why do you think we are so thin?! D:
