In the vein of Olympus Colloseum from Re:Coded, but fleshed out, obviously.
Personally, i loved that world, and I'd love to play a full game like that.
It would certainly open up some new possibilities for the franchise.
I mean hey, they already have Yoko Shimomura, this would bring them one step closer to the Mario and Luigi RPG series :P

ughhh. As much as I hate turn based games besides Pokemon I would just for the story. Though it would be extremely disappointing for me.

Definitely. I think that was probably my favorite world "gimmick" in coded. If they pulled it off well, which I think they would, I'd definitely get it.

I think if they didn't RUIN it it would be a good game, but one of the things about KH is the battle system is rather unique.
I would still play it for the story though :D

As a mini game it would be fine.

One of my biggest complaints about re:coded, is that it introduced many different types of gameplay, and then did almost nothing with them except cram them in places just to have them there. All of them are fun, but they all should be their own little game separate from the story. like arcarde style.

but no, i would not like to see it as an actual title.

I did enjoy the turn-based RPG game in Recoded and it felt very much in the vein of FF.

    I would enjoy it as a mini-game.

I'd play it just because it's Kingdom Hearts, but I think the real time battle system very much defines the Kingdom Hearts series. Back when Final Fantasy was still using an exclusively turn-based menu system, I remember a lot of the fans bidding that they inject a more Kingdom Hearts-esque system--which, with Final Fantasy XII and XIII, I think they have.

Real time battle obviously is not unique to Kingdom Hearts but I personally prefer it, it creates more high-pressure situations. You have to anticipate what your enemy is doing, calculate whether to attack or not, watch your health, etc. It's very exciting. I think the Kingdom Hearts battle system has come a long way too, I haven't played Dream Drop Distance but Birth by Sleep's was just great.

IMO DDD was a huge step down from BBS

As I said I haven't played Dream Drop Distance but from what I've seen and heard it seems like they were trying very hard to display the capabilities of the 3DS and to create the Pokémon-esque Dream Eater system. I just think that Birth by Sleep struck this great balance between the strategic card system of Chain of Memories, the exciting Drive system in Kingdom Hearts II, and the hack and slash of Kingdom Hearts. It innovated while still feeling very natural and Kingdom Hearts-y. That's what I'd really like to see in future Kingdom Hearts titles.

I though BBS combat was extremely stiff and DDD was way more fluent. IMO

I'd play any KH game no matter how bad the reviews get (unless it really is extremely horrible). In my opinion, a turn based system would not be a very good thing for KH. I already love the current gameplay, and I would hate for it to become a turn based game. I don't even like most turn based games, level grinding is incredibly annoying in these type of games.

The main reason I stayed out of Final Fantasy series is because of their turn-base nature, but I am so deep conected with KH today that I would probably play it and have fun.. I liked Olympus colisseum in Re:codded, and yet I feel that turn based games function a lot better on handleds than in consoles.

While I like turn based games I don't think I'd be able to play it. It would just be too weird given how all other KH games are real time. Like stated before, though, it wouldn't be bad to have it in a mini-game here and there though.

Yeah, I definitely would. Even though, I think KH has taken a turn for the worst, I don't think I'd pass up playing any new game that comes out.

I'd still play it, but i have to say, I would be hugely dissapointed. KH has always been a fast-paced battle experience, and personally, i liked the KH2 style best. The BBS system was okay, but i felt it restricted me when everytime I wanted to use a different spell I had to go back through and change my deck. KH and KH2 gave me the freedom to do and magic, summons, and special attacks whenever I wanted to, and KH2 threw in reaction commands, which opened a whole new shelf of possibilities, as well as allowing the command menu to change style depending on where you were. I think the same battle system used in KH1 and 2 should stay for future console titles. 'Nuff said

I think as long as they actually make a full system with it, it would be pretty good. Like everyone is saying, it was a one of the gimmicks that they put in. It was temporary so they didn't have to do much with it, but if they tried to make a full on system with it and addressed the things they left out, (like full control over the characters, actual limit break gauges, a growth system for everyone, and combination attacks that aren't made of trial and error) I think the system has potential. Especially the in battle timing combo. Most games like that are either the combo happens randomly on its own, timing adds damage, or neither.
