she talked to him after but she DIDNT show him dat she was mad by not talkin to him or sumthin like dat which she sould have done
she apologized to me and cried a lot but im still really mad
so i want to know if im over reacting
we have been together for 8 months now

Everyone is entitled to their own feelings. Perhaps she is just a good sport and takes a "punishment" when it is handed to her.
Personally, I would most likely never talk to her father. But to be angry at her is, to put it mildly; ******ed.

I've had similar situations, where my GF's parents tried to keep me and her apart. But if you can get so upset at the situation that you can be angry at her, you have to ask yourself if it is true love.

I've been with my girl for almost two years, and I could never stay mad at her for long, perhaps a few minutes.

    No I wouldn't.

Partially because if I cared so much about my girlfriend, then I wouldn't want her to have things tough at home, what good would her getting mad at her father do? It would just make the situation worse.

This, it's better to accept the punishment without too much fuss. Getting angry or whiny at her father would probably have had a far worse effect, and you wouldn't be seeing her for a far longer time.

And you have to respect your own/girlfriends parents decisions, even if they seem illogical and mean. Who knows, if you want to do things in a traditional way you might be asking the father for his daughters hand, you wouldn't want to be in bad terms with him then.

That would mostly depend on the reason why he wants us to not see each other any more. Most of the time, I would probably understand why, and maybe even think it's good of him. It shows that he loves his daughter. Maybe a little over-protective, but at least I know that my girlfriend has a loving father.

I do think that it is wrong to be so mad though. I don't like it when someone doesn't trust me... At least, it sounds like her dad doesn't trust you, and that's why he wants his daughter to not be around you, am I right or wrong?

I'd be furious. Angry, to say the least.

I might even consider TPing their house with a series of banana hammocks.

well we were gonna have sex and he read our txts about it online and her cousin gave her condoms and he found them and she says that he doesnt trust us alone plus at the movies we do stuff that parents dont approve of and he found out about that too so thats why hes mad but i think that she should have shown anger towards him aswell for keepin us apart

well she says me but its not about that its about showin them that she loves me too by bein mad at them. plus she gets mad at them all the times for other stuff

    my point exacly

I would probably wonder why she didn't care that much but, I wouldn't get mad.
Just look at it this way:
    He's her Dad.You're her boyfriend.
    Dad>Boyfriend.
They're family.I would trust my Dad too.His judgement is usually always right anyway.

It would certainly make me consider the relationship we're in if she doesnt get mad. I'd hope she would try to at least work some things how somehow, not just take it.

She was probably just trying to show her father that she is mature. By not overreacting it shows she can handle the opinion of her father, respects it, and is that much closer to gaining her father's trust.

In certain circumstances yes but in most cases i wouldn't. I mean that just proves that there road of relationships has one more big obstacle to contend with.

Well, i wouldn't be mad... i would be kind of happy that her dad doesn't beat her like a rag doll for seeing me....lol....i think that i am becoming violent tonight....but anyways, maybe it is a good thing because she doesn't want to deal with conflict at home, so i wouldn't get mad at her.....

Parents can get overprotective of their children at times, but its not like they don't want them to have fun. If you really loved her, then you wouldn't get mad at her for not saying anything to her father. If you know that it'll put her through a tough time, why press on it for? People should know that family situations are some of the hardest to deal with. If she did get mad at her dad, he might've grounded her & you both wouldnt be able to see each other [unless of course you go to the same school-cause that changes things a little]. I wouldn't get made at her, from what you've told us, I don't think its her fault or yours.

You can't exactly tell her what to do either >|
