Oh God the lolz I had http://www.escapistmagazine.com/vid...5511-Worst-Videogame-to-Movie-Adaptation-Ever
....are you serious? Silent Hill's had the best video game to movie adaptation. Sure, it might not have had the atmosphere quite right, and there were too many characters, but on its own, it could stand to be an alright movie.
Only half, but if you compare the characters from the film and the game, it's not all the faithful with knocks in down a bit, I'm not saying it's a bad film, but could have been better if they didn't change so much.
Oh, ok. But when you said it should be on a list of worst adaptations, I was bewildered. I agree, it could have been a lot better, but...what live adaptation has come that close? Hopefully, the new one they're making'll be closer (it probably won't)
In all seriousness, the only one I really agreed with was the Resident Evil adaptation. Sure the basic elements are there but Alice is too much of a Mary Sue caliber character for me to have any desire to see any further movies. TV Guide magazine pretty much refers to the second movie as follows in their line up pages: 'Unimaginative sequel where Alice kills more zombies.'
All video game adaptation movies suck. Not a single good one ever. The Resident Evil movies I really hate. The second movie more then the rest. Seriously, Alice has a fist fight with freakin' Nemesis and wins. That just pisses me off seeing how it took fourteen shotgun rounds to knock him out in the game on Easy and yet our Mary Sue protagonist beats him in a goddamn fist fight!
I disagree. The Prince of Persia movie was really good. Granted, it wasn't THAT close to the actual games, but it's still a very enjoyable movie.
Is everyone forgetting about Advent Children? Granted, not a direct adaptation, but close enough to count. I consider it one of the best by far, however, so hopefully there are no misunderstandings there.
Let's also not forget the horridness that was Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. But then again that was just a crappy movie with "Final Fantasy" attached to it that had nothing to do with Final Fantasy.
Everything but the story and lack of the old team screentime was amazing. Lets not forget Tifa's dilly dally shilly shally. :| lol, I know! I was so excited to hear that there was a FF film coming out only to find out it was a trap. >|
What was wrong with her dilly dally shilly shally? Oh, you meant the dub... It seemed pretty good to me. I don't know, I kind of like the first one more. But maybe that's because of the nostalgia attached to it. I can't be sure.
Ah, I've only seen the original version. lol, aye, the dub. There are some things that just don't translate well. xD
