just spent about 2 hours downloading a large winrar file containing a .iso, instead of saving it I clicked "open with winrar". when it finished and the winrar window opened I accidentally closed it, now I cant open the winrar file form my downloads list in firefox and I cant find it on my computer, im getting really frustrated and I dont want to download it again, is there any way I can access the file?
Hit Ctrl+J while in Firefox, and see if the file is still listed. If so, right click and select Open Containing Folder. Otherwise, you're going to have to look in your temporary internet files and see if it's still in there. I can help you locate it but let me know about the first option before that.
If memory serves me right Firefox only does full downloads. I don't think it runs from temp files. This sounds like an Internet Explorer thing. If I'm right, THIS page has instructions on finding the temp files, otherwise tell us what browser you are running.
Thanks for the help guys but I ended up just downloading it again. next time this happens Ill be sure to try out your advice. This thread can be closed now.
