Windows Live Messenger Display Name

While there may not be a way to change the entire window's background, is there a way to change your display name?

My full name is on there, but I would rather just display Amaury.

 

Tools > Options > Personal.

Name: -your name here- (Edit name)

I don't think this is the case for the newer (2011) messenger, and is actually one of the reasons a lot of people hate it--it forces you to have a last name. If you go to the Windows Live website, though, and edit your personal details, you can change your last name to whatever you want. Personally I just filled in the last name box with this space symbol: -->ﾠ<-- (copy between the arrows).

I don't have 2009 or 2011 still installed though so it's possible it's changed since I last used it.
