Today's the big day
and I knw that I said
I could hardly wait
but that was before
I had gotten here

I'm too nervous
I can't do it
there are too many people
who will see if I fail

I need you here
standing next to me
to cheer me on
or else I may
not be able to continue

Please wrap me in your gentle embrace
and tell me that everything will be fine
I need as much encouragement
as I can get
so would you please help me through this?

I think that I can't so it
that I'm too weak
and that too many people are watching
but if you were there to help me through it
I'm sure it would turn out fine

I have a play coming up soon and I started to get a bit of stage fright... so i wrote this poem... >.<

Good length.....good free verse......atmosphere is fairly good....and don't worry.....I'm sure you will do fine on your play Destiny....and I wish you good luck.....

 

i can relate to this!! First time i started to read it it sounded like the character was getting married haha, then i read the tag at the end, good job, i like the speed and word choice.

I remember my first play I was soooo nervous but everything turned out just fine.

Each line was shorter and I liked that.

nope... this morning I perform the play for the first time in front of an audience... >.< I'm so freaking nervous I dunno what to do...

 

just calm down don't eat a heavy breakfest i learned that first hand

 

I CAN'T CALM DOWN!!! there are three grades of students watching... and that is ALOT of people >.< and it is so far into school day that it doesn't matter what I eat... >.<

Well, you posted yesterday, so I'm assuming the play already happened. 3 grades of people isn't too much. I preformed in front of 600 people in a theater every night for about a month last year. If you just imagine that they aren't there you'll do fine. Once you get used to it it isn't to bad. You're only nervous on the first day. In fact, I bet you already did fine. How did it go?

it went pretty bad... >.< we messed up ALOT...I was trembling after the first time I went onstage... but I found that my nervousness goes down if I do the dances to other people's songs backstage... >.< I learned them while they rehearsed... and it helped bring down alot of the tension... but the REAL performance is coming up soon... I hope we fix our mistakes by then... >.<
