I think the funniest part about wikileaks is the United States government honestly cannot do anything.
Honestly, I keep hearing wikilinks whenever someone brings it up. I'm too lazy to look up links for wikileaks but I hear there's some crazy stuff. I never cared much about government though...
Basics: Guy working for the government got fed up of the US hiding secrets. Found a loophole in the security, took hundreds of thousands of files and gave them to the founder of wikileaks, an organization that published confidential files on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. He then took the files and published some of them (I believe 200,000 or so) on the website as well as gave them to newspapers. And this is only the initial leak. He isnt even at the good stuff. Overall, its a huge leak of secret and confidential US files from the 60's to as recent as last February.
Hmm I don't like government but we talk about wikileaks in our american government class. it's got all these secrets about the governement's agenda's and stuff they're doing. It's all stolen stuff but I don't know why anyone would actually want to look at that stuff. It makes me sad knowing everything. For a higher purpose, I'd rather be in the dark until they work out everything. Though we also looked at something called the US Debt Clock which seriously depresses me. If every citizen of the US wrote a check for about $120 we could be out of debt.
Things like this always annoyed me. Things need to be secret, especially with government. I mean yeah, some things we have a right to know but there's a whole level of things we shouldn't know about as a public.... especially when endangering people who are already in danger. It's nothing but sedition, and not the good civil rights kind of sedition.
Hey Rosey, you stop leaking yet? But yeah, I'm not even American and even I didn't like this wikileaks from the moment I heard of it. Don't you think there was a reason it stayed a secret? They were a secret for a reason.
So you guys rather be sheep in a herd and be controlled by a goverment that hides thousands pieces of information and does everything for money and self interest, instead of knowing the truth about how things work and how we are nothing but mere puppets?
Except not at all. It's not like the US governent is the only one that has secrets, and yeah I'd rather information stay confidential than potentially get in the hands of an enemy. There could very well be information about espionage missions currently working, and if these documents get into the wrong hands, it could put lives in serious danger. Nothing is preventing anyone from leaving the country, so if anyone feels like a controlled sheep...then leave, lol.
Besides, it really doesn't matter to the average man if they know it or not, either way they won't be able to affect any of it. There's really nothing that's positive about these things leaking.
Ever since Mario left our world to live in the Mushroom Kingdom the Americans have never quite solved that leak under the sink, cause that's what the pentagon is right, a giant sink? Isn't that why the military always call there when Transformers are about, because they know certain toys are screwed once they are fully submerged.
I understand that rational, in terms of enemies getting ahold of it. What I don't agree with is the fact that not only America, but other countries as well are built up around lies. Obviously theres nothing much we can do about that. I also don't agree with people saying the founder(s) of Wikileaks should be killed for treason for posting the information. Not everyone has the resources to leave, though. D: You never know who's going to get ticked off and nuke who next. My husband, the elves and I are keeping an eye out on all countries.
Ignorance is bliss, dearies. <3 Think about it in terms of yourself: you're honest with people, yeah, but there are some things that you just keep to yourself. That's how I see the whole thing. Of course, I think the US government has taken advantage of this, but it's the same concept, imo.
