Why wasn't Aerith not one of the Princesses of Hearts in the first game?

This question's been bothering me for a period of time since I remember playing the whole collection of the games and reading the manga as well, now I wanna know, what are any of your thoughts on why she wasn't one of the Princesses of Hearts in the first game of KH to the end of KH2?

 

Because she's a FF character,seriously,that's why.

 

Any statement to back up your theory at all?

 

I guess Nomura wanted the princesses to be Disney characters.

The fact that all FF charateres are Cameos.
Besides that,nothing really.

 

Hmmm...I'll buy that, but what I thought would be that he had another intention than making it to where only Disney cameo's were the only one's, besides Kairi in that category, to be Princesses of Hearts.

 

Probably because they wanted all Disney Princesses. They wanted all gamers to know who the princesses were, and not all KH fans are FF fans.

Plus, Aerith isn't really a princess anyway. I guess Alice isn't either, but still, at least she was a disney character.

 

Makes sense, but still, he could have at least added one FF character in there, I mean Kairi isn't one of the Disney characters and she gets added, why not Aerith too? (If this is an endless debate, then at least give me examples of why she can't be a Princess Of Heart?)

 

This game is made by Square,but they're actually following Disney orders,and of course disney would want to make its characters to be part of the main plot and not anyone from FF.

Yeah,that too,most of us forget some times that KH = Disney,not FF.

Kairi is a KH charater,KH = Disney,so Kairi is a Disney charatcer.

^^This is why. I also think maybe because they didn't want only Squall and Yuffie to be in that group, she is needed to add more to the Traverse Town group.

 

I think the FF characters were more like extras in the story. They were important, but not really important. Nomura most likely wanted, with the exception of Kairi, th PoH to be Disney characters.

 

I'm guessing because she is a FF character.

 

Why? because there was only 7, and she showed up 8th at the auditions.

Seriously dont make such a big deal over it, Nomura wanted 6 of the princess' to be familiar faces and give the final slot to Kairi, for the sense of KH and Disney mixing more, SE characters from the FF games were all minor roles, Nomura just wanted some of his favourites to partake in the game.

Honestly, I would say the same as everyone else seems to, that she is a FF character, and all the other princesses of heart are disney characters. The only other thing I have to back this up would be: who else would they choose to be princesses with Aerith? I mean, I know there are other people in FF, but most of the princesses they chose were already in that role in the movies they were in. Other then that, maybe the fact that Aerith died in the original FF7 game?

 

I'm pretty sure the reasons are basically as simple as people have said.
- She's a half-Cetra from FF and not a princess.
- She's not a Disney character.

As for why Alice was a Princess and Aerith wasn't... which is probably also why Ariel wasn't a PoH is because Aerith and Ariel were not pure of heart necessarily in the same way the others were. They are still both good people but their motivations as well as what they did in their respective movie/games was not the same as the other PoHs. The image of a PoH is to be pure of heart and have no darkness. Aerith did at moments do some things that though yes some would say she's as pure as the fallen snow, were not very uh..pure in some people's eyes, like how she helped deal with Don Corneo. If any FF chars were likely to be considered PoHs it would probably be Aerith or maybe Terra (FF 6). Alice is a child and was considered to be very pure and innocent so that's why I believe she makes the cut, despite not being an actual princess.

The lines are of course fuzzy but I'm sure it really does come down to Aerith not being a Disney character and well, they wanted a set number of familiar faces to be the princesses of heart, along with Kairi who is another character that would come to be owned by Disney.
