Kingdom Hearts II Why Nomura!?! WHY!!!!!!!!!

I just read on Kingdom Hearts 2 NET that Nomura stated that the next KH installement will probably be on a hand-held platform. This really dissappointed me, not only because the last KH game that was on a hand-held platform wasn't very popular, but also because of new AND better platforms that are out there, such as the PS3. A hand-held platform can only do so much: limited control, moderate voice acting, and undeveloped graphics. As a huge KH fan, I would like to Square Enix take advantage of a highly advanced platform and put on a great show in the next KH installement. The only problem is that such a platform, (example:PS3), is not well-"embraced." The PS3 is costly and does not have very popular games at the moment, (though it sounds like there are some good titles coming out soon). But, I really would rather pay the price and play with awesome capabilities of the PS3 instead of watching a bunch of sprites running around. (Not counting the PSP. But its graphics still suck compared to the PS3). This new story looks awesome, and I hope they don't ruin it by puting it on a platform that can't give it justice. What do my fellow KH fans think?

id rather have it on a handheld than pay 600+ to play it....

and BTW. KH-vids had that news update AGES ago!

Get yourself updated, it's not 600 bucks anymore.

As well, who really buys a console for one game. The next KH game won't be out until what? 2009 onward? Perhaps even 2010? Do you know how many amazing PS3 games will be out before then? And the PS3 may yet see another price drop, who knows.

Chances are there will be plenty of games to buy BEFORE the next KH game comes out.

Maybe they're going to do something like CoM again and then continue the series? They DID say that it wasn't going to be named 'Kingdom Hearts Three'. It could possibly be an installment to give a background to the third.

 

It's on KH2.net. There's a link to it on KH Vid's main page under Affiliates. I know they're far better than they were, but they still aren't as powerfull as a stationary system. I noticed some other replies stated that this is old news. If I missed that post, I appologize. But I still wished to state my feelings on the matter.

 

I have to say I'd far rather the game be on the PS3 than a handheld game. The graphics are never going to equal up and also I like to watch the scenes and relax in a chair, seeing them in full vivid display from a TV set. There's something lost playing games on a hand held device. The sound, vision etc is always better on TV or on the computer. If he is doing it on a portable device, I really hope that is not the big game that is planned and just something like CoM that's a filler. Otherwise it will be disappointing.

 

Do you really think next-gen will end after the next KH game? There will always be something new to see. KH-related or not.

Besides, it's most likely that there will still be more KH games after this next one. Sora's Story has yet to continue.

I will admit I must've missed this information, about the probabilty of KH being on a hand-held system. But contrary to what y'all think, I wouldn't mind if KH were on a PSP. I could honestly see it happening, since its system is pretty well advanced for something so heavy in graphics like KH.

 

I think having the next game on a hand held console is a good thing. The current hand helds have been out for a while now & they will be a better chance of selling it.

 

This is OLD news. I think they did a rather good job with the original Chain of Memories.Maybe it's a good idea because my family often travels around Singapore and Malaysia in the car,so I can occupy myself with the games to prevent myself from getting bored to death xp!

And quite a lot of people own portable consoles,so I think it is okay,especially with the fact that the console wars is becoming big.(Ouch!Sorry!)

 

Oh no i totally agree... On a handheld like PSP, which really isnt super popular in my opinion would be bad. Not to mention you really couldnt do all the things the PS3 or even PS2 could do without an analog stick, and I'd rather see these sweet graphics I've seen so far from the trailers and stuff on a bigger screen rather than a little tiny screeen. BTW I hated CoM's playing style with the cards and what not. Thought the CoM storyline was very good and essential for KH2 to make sense in the beginning

 

I think it would better be on Wii

 

that would be fun but since KH is still a sony exclusive, i don't see that happening

 

im thinking itll be on the ds sense square enix and nintendo have this weird relationship with adding serise like final fantasy to the gamecube and kh com to the gameboy just a thought tho :)

 

hey handheld is good its portable and it can be stayed at home.

atleast its better than a game system staying at home i mean look at the other side you're obbesse with kh and then u bought the game and you have to go on a road trip and stuff and you wanted to play it really badly but the gamesystem stays at home.

but if its handheld u can take it out and play it whenever u want to.
