    Probably because Nomura said all Final Mix games would be exclusive to Japan.

    video games (and dvds) have regions,

    NTSC(USA)
    NTSC(japan)
    PAL

    the US is on NTSC(USA), so a US ps2 cant play games from any other region. and because final mix is japan exclusive, so if it was sold in the US, you wouldn't be able to play it unless you moded your US ps2 or bought a Japaneses one.

    handhelds (game boy, DS, psp) don't have regions. you can play Japaneses games on a US DS with no problem

    Anyway, it's only sold in Japan and will most likely not come over to North America and/or Europe.

    Use the search button if you want to learn more--there are plenty of threads that discuss the whys and why nots about this title coming to NA/Euro.
