I think if you call it XIII-3 everyone will know what you were talking about.

There are other names I could call the game but I am not sure they are appropriate for this site.

It's not nearly as confusing as the naming schema for Kingdom Hearts game tbf. Kingdom Hearts HD II.5 Remix? r u fukin kiddin

 

It's because she's returning the franchise. To what state, only time can tell.

for a real answer though, it's probably just because it sounds more ~epic~ and eye catching. like "o shaz lightning returns things bout to get REAL in ma Last Fiction games"

I remember reading something a while back that Square didn't want "Final Fantasy" to have as much impact on the title of the game. So they said "Lightning Returns" had to go first. Or something along those lines. It's been a while since I read the article.

 

It's okay. No one has to know.

They should have called it Final Fantasy XIII Episode 3: Revenge of the Ce'ith

Seriously... I just.. What makes you all think everyone is fine with being exposed to this much hatred and pessimism over things they may like? It's not a rules thing, it's not something that can be enforced, it's just a nice, adult thing to do. You're not right or wrong for your tastes differing.

That said, if you want to talk about the games with someone, why don't you try discussing the game openly and honestly until your issues are isolated to one or two design flaws or your praise is isolated to one or two design choices so instead of just being all LOL SHIT GAME YO o/, you can actually learn the other people's tastes and they can learn yours. With that type of conversation, instead of just blind hating on Catherine, a friend made me realize that both girls just aren't in my taste in women so I can't get any attachment. YA KNOW WHAT? IT's TROO.

 

It's looking to be easily the best playing of the XIII series. The plot sounds completely bonkers but I'm okay with that

because even if the game is good i'm not going to work through a 25+ hour long story i find stupid and boring just to experience it. there are better games out there i could be playing that excel in both regards.

also everyone has a right to give their own thoughts and opinions on a public forum, positive or negative.

 

"Lightning Strikes back" would've been a nightmare for the legal team.

 

They didn't want to in anyway relate it to XIII-2 title wise because people would run upon announcement

The rest of this forum when this topic comes up kinda talks like every one should agree with them and just can't accept tastes.

That said, if you and I were chillin' and I was like "I THINK ___ IS AWESOME!" and you said "It's fucking dumb," it's going to get pretty awkward, huh? Especially if both things were said with passion. You can't just dig into someone else's tastes because yours don't align.
