does every game come out so much later than in the US?, we speak English (the UK and what not) now i understand not all Europian contrys speak english but dont the europian version of SE know a game is coming and get the stuff from SE HQ so the game actually comes out around the same time as the US? thank god i live in the US explain cuz i dont understand
They did it with The world ends with you. Pal got it like 2 days earlier but whatever. Same time. So whats the problem with every other game?
yea no kidding! i feel so bad for the Europeians that are on this fourm when a new came comes out American - "OMG I GOT THE GAME ITS AMAZING!" (europian release hasnt been announced) Europians - "BURN IN HELL AMERICANS!!! D:<<<<"
things inside the game change that none of you notice such as the amount of hertz the game tells the ps2 to output and to play audio at a slower rate than that of NTSC-UC and NTSC-J games. also other minor stuff will also change inside the games technical stuff that i won't bore you all with. also they fix any bugs that are reported
Well with Super Smash Bros Brawl, it does get a tad tedious... What am I saying. Forget Americans. We need to unite against the JAPANESE!
I'm gonna move this to General Game Chat, since this isn't only in regard to KH. I think one reason is that PS2s, DSes, and other gaming consoles vary from region to region. Which is why you need Swap Magic to play the Japanese version of KHII:FM+. Probably also depends on the amount of sales from a particular region, too. +\Moved/+
Because in order for the games to be released they have to go through a rating system. And it just so happens America (a consumer nation if you will) would get it soonest (unless it's a Japanese company like S-E). We have an ESRB, I'm not sure about Europe though. They have it too, I think, but yeah.
Most of the reasons have already been said, but in essence: - NTSC to PAL - Different rating system--each game has to be screened, and if there are nuances, they need to be changed and thus thrown back into development for scene edits/omissions, etc - Europe isn't just the UK. Since Europe is treated as the name suggests, a continent, the game in question needs to be translated in all the languages associated with the region before release (usually includes German, French, Italian, etc). This isn't like North America where the primary language is English. This was a bigger issue in the past, but it's been better this generation. Sometimes Europe gets games sooner than anyone else, other times around the same time. The only kinds of games that tend to get delayed the most for Europe are those from Japanese developers. Others aren't so bad. Well you said so yourself, it's 'Europe', not just the UK. Therefore all of Europe has to wait until all the translations are done (including voice over work) for each country associated with the region.
I'm so glad Rockstar managed to get every region re-programmed and rated in advance. One single release date worldwide. I dunno why other companies don't do this, it seems a lot less annoying for customers, cos you don't end up with an American having to wait ages for his European friend to get it released in the shops... Although it will probably be frustrating for the game companies to get things set up like that.
