Why do people love Skyrim so much that they call it "The Best Game Ever!"?

Before you throw any torches, grenades and anything throwable that causes pain to me, just hear me out. Don't get me wrong, I mean I LOVE Skyrim, But besides the graphics, and the story, why do people call it the best game ever?

Because people are easily pleased when one good thing comes out.

I've tried the game, and well... It's just not my cup of tea. But I can understand why others love it.

I like the series for "mods" and other fun stuff, but I wouldn't call it the best game. On that note, how does one define the "best game?" Would the "best game" be a game that so many people all over the world enjoy that it is thus declared to be loved by everyone?

If this is true, a lot of girlfriends/boyfriends are mad because they don't see their girlfriend/boyfriend anymore. So would this still be considered the "best game?"

I like Skyrim but I wouldn't call it the best game ever. That would be Metal Gear Solid 3.

i hope you're not implying people praise Skyrim's story or graphics because they are both terrible
    Skyrim is mediocre

I've heard a lot of people saying the story was decent, and the graphics were great, as well as it being a giant game that will keep going once you beat the main story, which is the largest reason a lot of people seem to praise the game. I'm not really a fan of it though. I've played it a little, and even though I did it a few times, I never got quite into it

Last summer I played Skyrim non stop for 2 weeks and by the end of it I was having hallucinations of the inventory screen everywhere I went.

I actually can't figure out why people like Skyrim, like

I've tried it at length and it's just so dull

I guess it has served as an entry point for a lot of people into medieval fantasy and action RPGs but like it's just so subpar in its field and there are so many games that do everything it does but better

    including earlier Elder Scrolls games

    How embarrassing is that

That's actually kind of funny because Kojima has hated the series since Metal Gear Solid 2 and has been trying (and failing, apparently) to make every MGS game since then suck horribly

With MGS2 he went out of the way to make a loser protagonist (Raiden) to basicly say "hey player, you suck", and with MGS4 he went to trying to explain away all the mystic elements as technology (how could Vamp be immortal? Nanomachines, son) and having moments that basicly scream "there are you happy now?". Throw in the fact that at one point you are being chased by a "mobile gun station" and you are given the instruction of "shake off the MGS" it is pretty obvious.

MGS3 I'm not so sure about, I suspect he intended to be the final game being it was a prequel and all.

In short, Kojima has been having a Springtime for Hitler.

Skyrim has its good parts and bad, but i'd give it a.... 3/5.

Like most other games, it gets very redundant after beating the main story, although theres alot more to do, its just annoying, specially when some side missions have bugs and what not.

A game that i very much enjoyed, along with most others in the series is Assassins creed. Even though i've never played one, i have played 2 and brotherhood. AC2, i give a 4/5, same for brotherhood.

Morrowind was better in my opinion but that could be the nostalgia factor.

I love skyrim, I couldn't stop playing it when I got it as I just found it so addictive. I mean, for me it was "I NEED TO GET TO THE NEXT LEVEL AND DO THIS AND GET MY ARMOUR MAKING SKILLZ UP TO 100 AND THEN I CAN DO THIS AND THAT AND BLAHHHHHH" but I wouldn't say it was the best game ever, I definitely enjoy it but there are better games out there.
