Maybe back when they were first drawn, it was the thing to wear gloves.

    Maybe their hands are cold?

Or it's just a style thing, to make them look cooler or something.

They match his outfit. And is a trademark of Disney, so maybe they asked for them to be included. It could also help with his grip.

Most likely the Disney thing. They like to fit as much of them as they can into everything they're part of

I think its harder to draw the hands than other parts of the body, maybe gloves make it easier?

Not really. Gloves are like bigger versions of hands. And, like Sora's gloves, more difficult than just drawing the hand, because of all the designs and stuff.

That's a very good observation. My opinion would be the artist was told to by the employer or it could be because fingers are more technical then drawing gloves. I don't really know the answer to that so I'm only speculating.

Going with what Azure Flame said, the gloves are definitely more detailed than the hands, and would be harder to draw, so I don't think it;s because the artist can not draw hands very well.

My observation is that Disney is not the only company that has their characters wear gloves, Nintendo has their mascot Mario and Luigi wear them also and other such characters. Not to mention Sega has designed Sonic the Hedgehog and of its trademark characters which are either heros or villians, Shadow, Knuckles, Rogue, Tails, Espo, Vextor, and etc this fashion as well.

There are lots of cartoons, anime, and video game characters that wear gloves that anyone can distinguish by name. I feel it may just be a very popular fashion and clinche fad, that clashes well with a characters outfit, but also an important thing considering if the character is a warrior or etc and it may be necessary if they wear gloves, arm guards for protection especially if they use a weapon in order to have the avoidance of said weapon slip from their hand.

I agree with fire mage. Gloves aren't necessarily a Disney Trademark (Ash Ketchum, anyone?). And I think they're just there to make the character look "cooler".

Most game Characters have Gloves for Grip or to do Moves.
Like POP the Prince has Gloves/Gauntlet to run across the Wall and Fight!
Some Gloves effect the gameplay, other then that they are for Style!

I have to say with Disney, it's their trademark almost. With S-E charactes, etc, it's only for style.

Funnily enough, Sora's design (original one, anyway) was influenced by Mickey's.

i think they wear gloves to make it easier to draw the characters. i think so because you would have to have much more detail to draw hands and if not done right, the hands would look weird. gloves take less attention to detail i think.

Wearing gloves is part of the "appeal" given to the character's hands and their fashion of picking things up. I've always noticed how they purposely give gloves to characters to somehow make them stand out.
