I've played the first time Final Fantasy X without the sphere grid. And I can say that I liked it more without the sphere grid, then with it. You need more time to think in the battles and it is not that easy, how with the sphere grid. It took me 2years to end the game. Then I tried to play it with the sphere grid and I ended the game in 1 week.
But my question is: Who played it too the 1st time without the sphere grid???

O.O! You're crazy! I'd never dream of playing that game without Sphere grid! I mean, how would you beat the Dark Aeons? It's inhuman! *shudders at though* :(

My first time playing it, I completly filled it for all characters(so everyone could do everything) and that took me two months to do just the grid lol, the second time I played through I didnt raise the grid for anyone at all, it is definatly much harder, you just need to rely on Rikku alot more, with her mixes and potions rather than cure. definatly a fun play ^^

Are you serious?? how the heck can you play that game without it?? I mean the boss abttles would kill you for one thing and how would you do the Omega dungeons or the Dark Aeons? Let alone the arena battles and Penance?? If you did that then wow!! I love the sphere grid (the experienced one is better) but I prefer the systems in the other games I think!

Seriously though wow if you did that! :D

Well, if I remember right, the aeons power up with yuna, so the weaker she is the weaker they are. and the Dark Aeons are exactly like your aeons, same with the rest of the game, the stronger YOU are the stronger they are, and you can augment HP, DEF, and STR totals with equipment. It's not all THAT much harder(aside from the second Seymore battle, that was a *****!

Sorry but I completely disagree with that! Firstly when you fight Belgamines version of Aeons it tells you that not all aeons are the same as the versions you have, secondly the dark aeons all have like over 1,000,000 life regardless of how high or low your own life and defense etc is. True equipment ets can help increase strength and Hp and stuff but only very limited. Boss battles don't get stronger or weaker based on your own statistics otherwise as ou increase in status then so would they and you'd get trapped in a "spiral" (no pun intended). Yes your own aeons power up with Yuna but the dark aeons aren't Yuna's aeons.

p.s I think the Gagazet Seymour was harder than the 2nd (Bevelle) Seymour. :D

Also note that I said If I remembered right, I never said it was certain. and yeah everyone's Aeons arent the same, I never once said that either. it was dependant on the summoner's powers. thats why Belgemine's were so much different(in some cases stronger) than Yuna's. please, read what I said before agreeing or disagreeing.

second, I was saying that to MY experiances, it SEEMED as though boss strength was relative, once again, I never said I was CERTAIN about it. and Gagazet Seymore IS the second seymore fight (you fight him in GuadoSalam, Gagazet, Beville, and then the very end of the game)

a sphere grid is sorta like leveling process, every time you battle monsters you get AP points the gives your Sphere points i think? that is needed in the sphere grid to level up your characters.

Firstly no offence was meant I was just expressing my opinion. Secondly you did say that the Dark Aeons are exactly the same as Yuna's. Thirdly the second Seymour fight is in Bevelle, because you fight him in Macalania then end up in Bikanel and then go straight to Bevelle from there, the Gagazet fight is the third time you fight him! I did read what you said before making up my mind as to whether I agreed or disagreed as it would be disrespectful otherwise (and I am not a disrespectful person), but if I interpreted what you were saying differently as to how you meant it to come across then i'm sorry. But I was just expressing my opinion.

    xx

Again no offense meant and that wasn't how I meant for you to interpret it, looks like we both mis-intrepeted each others posts :D

SWEET! I'm gonna start a new file in FFX. There was one time when I cheated to have all characters at the max at the start. I beat so many bosses that gave me trouble in one hit. I guess it was sort of payback.

Actually, the Dark Aeons are not related to Yuna or her Aeons at all. (has got FFX Strategy Guide)

My friend played FFX without the sphere grid...actually, he didn't even know about it until I told him when he just finished the Blitzball Match.

Yeppedy yep that was what I said!

I prefer using the grid cos it's like another challenge in a way, like dodging them damn lightening bolts and catching butterflies. Blitzball is so ace I love that game :D but yeah i see the grid another mini "game" in effect that helps you get stronger :D yay Blitzball
