Kingdom Hearts II Who is Xehanort?

Who is the man whom Ansem found in Radiant Garden? Is his real name Another? Did he ever have a heart? Why is it that someone called "Master" Xehanort existed 10 years before Kingdom Hearts, and was an old geezer?

Hmm, i think we hear that the old master xehanort, and his apperentice were lost. If i remember the secret video from finalmix correctly, the eyes of one guy at the end, who looks a bit like xehanort, turn golden, like xehanorts eyes are always.
My theory would be that he is the mentioned apperentice of M. Xehanort, though that dosent answer much (exept that ansem might not be the first name he stole)

and Xemnas is an anagram of Ansem
