I've been re-playing Kingdom Hearts II lately, and I was just finishing up Day 6 as Roxas. I was about to enter the Pod Room where you switch control over to Sora, and I decided to examine the pods in the small hallway that Donald and Goofy are in. The pod closest to the entrance said "There's evidence this has been used before."

My question is, do we know when this pod was used?

I don't think they ever mentioned that room, or the pods being used before. Kinda freaked me out at that part, and I left to go get Sora. Could only assume that it was used for other Nobodies, or Riku, maybe even Namine or Kairi. They could have also had to change Sora's pod, as well as Goofy and Donalds.

The happenings of Chain of Memories took place one year prior to Kingdom Hearts II, so it was probably either Donald's or Goofy's pod.

It wasn't, I was still Roxas so they hadn't awakened yet, and the pod was empty. Theirs were further down the hall.

Legend tells that one of those pods was where they decided to place Walt Disney's corpse, before it was relocated to Tron's world, and that a substitute was placed where his grave should be. Now, DiZ tried to get Namine to wake Sora up, by taking Walt Disney out of his pod, and putting Sora in his place, thinking all that original Disney goodness would be enough to restore his memory....or, you know, that's how the legend goes.

Well, you know, it's all legend. I have no proof...but I think it's worth investigating.

I know of that camber thing.

You can disprove it being donald or goofy's pods because you can see them inside down the hall.

I think the most reasonable explanation to this is it was probably where they made roxas forget about his memories from 358/2 and placed into VTT
But theres no indication of this in 358/2 so im guessing as ansem had used this mansion as something before KH2 so im guessing it could be another link to bbs maybe as a test for a pureblood heartless or MAYBE
It was Somewhere to hold Xehanort as we all know he doesnt remember anything about his past and only the name xehanort.
But then again there would need to be someone with the power to alter memories in bbs for this to work...

This raises another question : Is there a bigger reason to why namine has her powers?

The novels actually answered that, which means it's up to you about whether or not you take them as canon (I tend to take them as such so long as they don't bluntly contradict the games' canon).

They wrote in the novels about when Namine toyed with Repliku's memories, giving him Riku's - and he was in a pod when she did that

What the- the most the pods were said to do without Namine's help was sample Memories, not go to town with them. And when did they ever managed to put Riku, let alone either of the girls in them? :\

The pods were moved, not changed.

Xehanort never wrote anything about Castle Oblivion in his reports, so doubtful the pods - who originated from there, it seems - were used for that.

Master Xehanort's Keyblade has on it a beast similar in design to the one on Castle Oblivion. So not that I'm supporting your theory, just pointing it out.

I like to relate it to the Ven factor and tie it to CO from there as much like there's something of Aqua's in the Chamber of Repose, Ven is supposed to be in the Chamber of Waking, which is supposed to be in CO.

There are about 20 something pods in KH2 FM. Perhaps used for more experimentation in the most part. Ansem and his apprentices most likely used them.
