Square-Enix Which Is Better: FFIII or FF: Ring of Fates?

Here's the scoop: I'm trying to decide which Final Fantasy game for the DS to buy for a friend as a Christmas gift. Out of 5 games we've managed to narrow it down to two: FF III and Ring of Fates. He already has Revenant Wings and FF IV. I was going to get him Crystal Chronicles but he kinda stuck his tongue out at that one.

So I guess I'm asking if anyone's played either of these games or knows anything about them, and which one is better (because right now I'm judging by prices rather than playability and fun factor).

I had FFIII on the DS, and squeezed at least 20 hours of gameplay out of it ^^

 

FFIII Definately.

It's a long game, but worth the money, trust me.

 

FFIII. Heaps better than Rings of Fate.

Though if your friend is hardcore, maybe Chrono Trigger?

 

I hadn't thought of Chrono trigger to be honest, as he's been on a Final Fantasy high for quite a while now.

Sounds like FF III is the way to go (which works for me too; it's within my budget for him). Thanks for the help.

I enjoyed Ring of Fates more, to be honest. I've not beaten III yet, but it's just... well, to me it's not as fun as IV was, by a longshot. I'd say Chrono Trigger or Ring of Fates.

But it's kinda hard to level up and very long

 

I like III better. Maybe it's because I haven't finished Ring of Fates yet lol.

 

FFIII is better :)
