We all know how a good number of anime are relatively short, usually ranging from 24-56 or so episodes. Hell, Fooly Cooly had six if I remember. I know a lot of people don't like animes that stretch on. I, for one, prefer longer series.
If you had a choice of animes that would be an ongoing series, what animes would you choose, why, and what changes would you like to see?

For me: S-CRY-ed. One of my favorite animes. I think they could have made it more in depth with how Alters work, the other dimension, and what was happening to Kazuma's body (since no one apparently noticed in the actual show).

Personally, I think Black Cat could've had more episodes than 26, nu it was good while it lasted.

Both Baccano! and Bakemonogatari should have lasted longer than 15 episodes in my opinion. Thankfully, a prequel for Bakemonogatari has been green lit for production but unfortunately there hasn't been any word on Baccano! getting a second season even though there is a lot of source material that could be adapted into an anime.

Hey guys, when you post include more than just "this series because it had xx episodes". Explain why, etc.

Anyway. For me it was probably Wolf's Rain, really great series but I felt like some things could use more development. Like more of the characters' backstory. Still great as it is though. xD

Cardcaptors: The ending of the English Dub was incredibly rushed. If it had continued being dubbed, there would've been a batter opprotunity to develop Sakura/...Iforgothisname's relationship, and see further see her develop into a Clow Master rather than just "I GET LITE AND DAHRK CARDZ I BE BEHST EVA"

The Big O: So many questions left unanswered, and so many ways they could've added on to the story. I've tied to wrap my mind around what the last few episodes were about, but it still didn't make much sense at all.

Dogs: Stray Dogs Howling In The Dark: SO much potential to become a great series, yet they stuck it at a 4-episode OVA which is just crimnal for how awesome the few characters they introduced are. If anything, it would be like Baccano!, but so much better.

Ouran High School Host Club: There was so much material left, it was a popular show, and there were mass profits to be made. Why it was discontinued, I'll never know.

    Agreed.

Big O was pretty unlucky. The second season was actually supposed to be complete and wrap things up. Then the writers were told that they might get a third season, so they were instructed to leave things ambiguous and leave more questions to be answered in the third season. Then they didn't get picked up for a third season D:

Fruits Basket, Ouran High School Host Club, Spiral - These should have continued the plot of the manga

Kuroshtsuji - the ACTUAL plot should have been continued, not the second season it had

    D.N Angel: I would have liked D.N angel to go on a bit longer. But keep more closer to the manga because alot of things were way off. Wich confused me but it was real good wish it lasted longer ; ;

Kaze no stigma: Wish it lasted longer. I wanted a bit more plot with it to make it more intresting.

Spiral: I just wish it had more episodes cause I freakin loved it xD

Furits basket: I think fruits basket could have gone on longer. I wish it kept to the manga with what happend with Kyo. I would have loved it to be conintued so we could see the rest of the Zodiac members and more of Akito and his place in all of it.

On one hand, I think Elfen Lied was incomplete and missing content in comparison to the manga (which it definitely was.) It cut out around a third of the way through the story. On the other hand, I think I prefer the ending of the anime to the ending of the manga. Both were pretty lacklustre.

Even so, it didn't elaborate on the plot enough. There were too many holes left. It needed them to be wrapped up, at least.

Angel Beats, because it was originally supposed to be 24-26 and was budget cut to 13. The series was really good but you can tell they started rushing things which was a bit of a disappointment. Also Claymore could have gone on longer since they really didn't accomplish anything at the end.

I'd say To Aru Kagaku no Railgun. Even though it's a spin-off, and the original series is still on-going, the manga's still on-going and it's phenomenal. It would really be treat to see an animated version. How it ended also really disappointed me in many ways. At first I was all like "am I watching a super-powered K-On or something?"

Speaking of disappointing endings, I felt like Soul Eater would've done better in the ending. I mean, come on.
A courage punch? They didn't even turn Soul into a Death Scythe yet.
Plus, the manga is going swell, so I would love to see Bones animation on those. (delicious Yutaka Nakamura animation.)

    And also, Cardcaptor Saku-
Yes. It's Syaoran Li, by the way.

also, kingdom hearts should totally move on to 3 right now.

Let's see... I think that one anime that shoulda lasted longer was X'amd of the Lost Memory(ies). Don't get me wrong the ending was awesome, but it sucked. (paradox!) I really wanted to see what would happen when Nakiyami finally woke back up...but I guess that wouldn't really make much sense...

For me it's Alien Nine, hands down. At only four episodes it's one of the shortest series I've ever seen, and it only covers about half of the manga (when not even counting the extra spinoff volume Emulators). Honestly, it's a really great psychological series IMO, a sort of metaphor about growing up. For its incredibly short duration it manages to develop the characters quite well, so I would imagine a 13-episode series would give it the amount of time needed to flesh them out even more and actually complete the story.

Fruits Basket and Ouran High School Host Club

For Fruits Basket, the ending was really awkward.....Since the manga is finished, they should either continue it or do a remake.

For Ouran High School Host club, they really can continue on with the anime since the manga is now complete. The differences they put in the anime can easily be moved around so then it will follow the manga.

    Hmm well...

Zero no Tsukamia/Familar of Zero - They had 12 episodes in their seasons, they still have given much fo the female cast their affections for Saito, especially Henrietta, we did get an episode of her doing and undercover and all.

Cardcaptors - I seen english dub version on VHS and still have them, but I never seen the Japanese TV Series apart from the movies a long time ago.

Tsubasa Chronicles - It onyl finished in OVAs of when Cllone and original Syaoran end their match and now there is onyl Fei-Wong to deal with, sure the anime does make a cameo in Kobato after Sakura leave sthe group to stay in Clow Country but that's pretty much it.

FF Unlimited - Okay I admit it, it wasn't the best or the worst but they intentionally left a chance for a sequel and the manga does continue after the Earl's defeat.

Kaze no Stigma - This anime was good, to eb brutally honest, Kazuma was the only character that had me continue watching it cause well, he's badass.

The World God Only Knows - Okay this is during before second season was produced so bear with me, sure it makes fun of otaku nerds and fun of companies but it's humourous in it's own ways.

Please Teacher/Twins - Both had 12 episodes but they are connected but they could of explored more of side characters or more natural times.

Sonic X - Okay okay, don't kill me, it had three seasons while 4kids made it two, but at the end we never did see Chris return home completely leaving the chance for another season.
