When You Come Back to Me Again: A Charlie Bone Fanfic Chapter 1 A white van entered the city and crossed the now re-build iron bridge. It drove until it reached a small yellow house with a barn. Out of the van stepped an oldish couple with a young girl of maybe thirteen or fourteen with a woman with boy who was no longer a boy but a young man. Both the women and the young man had bright yellow eyes with slim figures. They were both had red hair and had the last name of Pike. They were mother and son, Clair and Asa Pike. Along with them were a Chinese woman, and older man with gray hair and a gray beard. There was also a Chinese girl wearing a yellow coat. These people were father, mother, and daughter, Bartholomew, Meng and Naren Bloor. Asa and his mother had fled the city with Bart and his family to escape the Bloors who had owned Bloor’s Academy, Bart's father, son and grandson. They were aware that Bartholomew was alive so instead of risking his family's life took them along with the remaining Pike family (As John Pike was dead) out of the city. The Pikes had been no longer safe in the city since Asa had been the 11th child of the Red King to help save Charlie Bone's father. In result Manfred locked up Asa in the dark and had kept him from changing. Asa was saved by Charlie and Billy Raven and was brought to his mother who was waiting in the white van with the good Bloors. From there they traveled to the country were the Pikes had first came there. The good Bloors were kindly welcomed by members of the Pike and Garr (Clair's maiden name) families. Asa had been able to meet many of his relatives and both he and his mother finally learned how to shapeshift at will. Asa had a great time learning new things but he never stopped thinking about one girl. That girl was Samantha Torsson, the older sister of Tancred Torsson. She not unlike her brother and father, Konrad, also had an element related endowment. Instead of the weather she had control over the four elements- Water, Fire, Earth and Air. He was one year older than her but they had been friends with since Samantha first went to Bloor's. When they were younger during the weekends Samantha would stay in the fort that her father had built there when Tancred was born. He never used it so Samantha had liked to sleep there at night, watching the stars. For some reason it was safe from all the weather, no one ever figured out how. One night Asa(as a wolf of course) was in the woods when Samantha found him. She took him back to the fort where he stayed there that night. In the morning when he became human again she told him that he was welcomed there whenever he wanted. That's where their friendship started but just a while before Charlie Bone came to Bloor's the endowed children started picking sides and Asa felt he had to join Manfred while Samantha wouldn't be swayed by evil even by her best friend. The two still remained friends but had a strained relationship. Samantha often got upset with him when he did terrible things to Charlie and the others like attacking Runner Bean and almost attacking Charlie in the ruins. On the weekends (when Asa wasn’t spying for Manfred) they had a much better time than at school. They acted much friendlier to each other without the pressure of their peers. Samantha offered to help him study for Asa's end of the year exams but he declined causing him to fail. When Asa helped Charlie help his father, Samantha was delighted but the enlightenment didn't last long. As soon as Asa was gone Samantha became distraught and unsocial. Samantha cried when she saw Asa leave that night with his mother and the others. Asa had seen her out of the top window of the girl’s dorm with the saddest look on her face he'd ever seen. He always remembered how much she was crying when he left. And now he realized that- "Asa-gege?" said Naren snapping him out of his thoughts. "Yea?" he answered. "You'll see her soon. You are coming to Bloor's with me right? To finish your last year?" "Of course," the red head smiled. He'd become very close with the younger girl during their time in Asa's homeland and she started treating him like a big brother calling him the Chinese equivalent of brother, gege. It was late Thursday night when they arrived back into the city, so tomorrow they all would head to The Bone Academy in the morning. Naren and her parents went inside the house while Asa and his mother went inside the barn which wasn’t really a barn. It was more of a house inside of a barn. Sure it didn’t have a TV and stuff like that but it had a place to eat and to cook and beds. “Tomorrow we’ll start moving a lot of the stuff back into the barn and house ok?†said Claire. “Of course,†he nodded. “Night,†said his mom kissing him on the top of his head. “Night, Mom,†he said giving her a kiss on the cheek, causing her to ruffle his hair. “Aw, Mom, I’m not a little kid anymore,†he mumbled. “You haven’t been a little kid in forever,†she smiled. Both of them headed off to one of the beds and would sleep until morning. On another part of town the teachers of Bone Academy were just getting out of their monthly meeting. Many things were now different about this school. Other than that the name had changed, they had gotten rid of the dungeons and there were new teachers including Lyell Bone as piano teacher, Felix Gunn as guitar teacher, Samantha Torsson as singing teacher, Maisie Jones as ‘Queen of the Canteen’, as well as Amy Bone as the new (and much nicer) matron. Dr. Saltweather was now the headmaster as Lyell didn’t want to too. The school was a much happier place and detentions weren’t given unless you did something really wrong. Lunch time and free time were now extended and bed times for the older children had also grown. Samantha was heading back to her room in the west wing when Felix tapped her on the shoulder. “Hey? You ok? You seem…. sad or worried….,†he trailed “I’m fine,†she sighed. “I was wondering what Asa was doing right now…,†“You silly girl,†smiled Lyell coming up from behind them. “I told you Bart said they were all fine,†“No you didn’t†“Yes I did,†“No you didn’t†“I’m sure I did,†“ Well you didn’t†“Oh well now you know,†he smiled. “Stupid old man,†mumbled Samantha only half joking. “Sorry, kid,†he smirked. “Good night Felix. Good night Mr. Pain-In-the-Ass-Bone,†said Samantha turning her back to both music teachers and walking towards the west wing where most of the teachers and other staff slept. “At least I’m not a stick in the mud!†Samantha heard Lyell say. She laughed slightly and continued walking. It didn’t take her long to reach the west wing. She walked to her room. It had bright yellow paint with a white celling. Samantha had painted it herself (with permission of Dr.Saltweather and the Bones), making it the color of her favorite Transformer, BumbleBee. On the wall hung various posters and the room had simple furniture. There was a bed, a dresser, a desk with a chair and a small table with a chair. On the wall was door that led to a bathroom that including a sink, toilet, and a standing shower. On the desk were many papers and a laptop that Samantha had brought from home. She went through the door, got ready for bed, jumped in bed and fell asleep.
