Kingdom Hearts II When did Riku lose to Roxas?

the characters keep saying that Riku lost to Roxas but when??? i looked at all the scenes but it pretty much seemed like Riku kicked Roxas's a*s. and saix said to Riku "i thot Roxas finished you off".

 

when do they say that?

 

Diz says before you beat xigbar and Riku says it too when you beat saix.

 

even Roxas and Riku said it. Roxas said "i defeated a Riku once"

 

It's in one of the FM+ scenes. Riku beats Roxas, showed mercy by giving him back a keyblade, then Roxas starts winning and Riku is forced to change into "ansem."

 

that doesnt mean he wins. The only reason riku had to be into his ansem form was becuase he was blind and dark aura didnt work on roxas. Roxas never beat riku. maby roxas was just trying to be cool

Maybe 'lost' is meant not in the sense of Roxas winning over Riku. Perhaps 'lost' meant that Riku gave into the darkness, by changing into the form of Xehanort's Heartless, and Riku himself sees it as loosing to Roxas.

Fights are composed of more than one round, people.
Riku and Roxas fight, Roxas defeats Riku, Riku decides that he can't win but Ansem can. Roxas beat Riku, Riku became Ansem, Ansem beat Roxas.

So YES Roxas DID beat Riku.

Riku actually had Roxas down. Roxas just had Riku struggling after he got back up, but then didn't really beat Riku.

I guess in the original scripting it was planned to just portray Roxas as being superior to Riku in terms of strength, but then when they made the scene they didn't show it properly (Roxas had the advantage, but couldn't quite snuff out Riku).

Maybe Roxas didn't remember the fight clearly and Riku was just being modest? Saix and DiZ weren't there so they shouldn't count. :p

 

Maybe you simply don't watch carefully videos, In TWTNW Riku says that he lost to Roxas.

 

Okay...this makes no sense. Riku AND Roxas both said they fought. Roxas won the first time, Riku won the second. I'm guessing either:

There was an unknown fight earlier then the fight between Roxas and Riku.

Or they consider their long fight to be two fights.

I'm not sure....Now this shall bug me all day until I know...*sigh*

Yes, I agree. Riku said that Roxas beat him so the next time he made sure he was stonger (perhaps by turning into Ansem). Roxas probably claims to have beaten Riku because he had to trn into Ansem just to beat him.

That, or there was an earlier attempt to obtain Roxas.
