What Would You Think of a KH...

That had minimal story, and instead focused on world building, fun and adventure?
Personally, I think it'd be a refreshing change of pace

 

I'm not sure that would work, I mean, other than Minecraft, how many games like that have been successful?

 

To me, the story is part of KH. Any KH that doesn't tell some deep story that immerses me, I'm not sure it would have that KH magic that all the other games have. I'm sure it would be fun, but I don't know how well it would sell, and how it would impact future game sales. I don't want to just be swinging a keyblade for no real reason; it has to have meaning and purpose behind it.

 

As a side game I'd like it. I imagine Kingdom Hearts PC won't have much of a story but the gameplay looks very nice for example. The main Kingdom Hearts games seem better with a good focus on the story though imo.

I'm a huge fan of all the deep stories of all kingdom hearts games. I think I would rather be very disappointed about a game which doesn't focus on the story as much as the other do.

 

Even though story is probably my favorite part of Kh, I was thinking about how it might be hard to keep up with the new saga the other day. And so simplicity might be nice, although that could possibly rob some experiences from older fans.

 

If it's simplicity you want, then maybe they could just start the new saga the same way as the old one: Simpliciously, Simple and Clean, etc. Than way it could be more simple and still have story. But all the same, I'd like the series to stay the way it is for now... perhaps go back to when Sora was just "Naive" and not "Stupid." That would be an improvement, right?

and as a completely unrelated side note; Are almost all of us.... disagreeing with hatok...?........... What kind of sick twisted dimension is this? Every thread by him I've ever read mostly has people stating their agreement. *sigh* I need to stop taking wrong turns in the dimension of doors, I keep ending up at the wrong place...

That could work, I just thought it would be weird if they ignored 8 games worth of information in favor of trying to start off slowly again. And yeah, anything is better than Sora's Kh3d level of intelligence.

I know that feel, as I'm usually the one disagreeing.

I don't know if I would like it or not. If it was part of the main series, then most likely not. I mostly go into games like Kingdom Hearts for the story. If it was just a game made for fun. I might just buy it and try it out of it allowed you to really stretch your imagination on a computer and maybe online.
