Chain of Memories What was Axel's Objective in Castle Oblivion

As I recalled Marluxia said something like "You were a double agent from the start" during the 13th floor.
Axel also said something about Sora being worth saving.
Does that mean that Xemnas was suspicious of Marluxia from the start and why did Axel save Sora?

 

Yeah, Xemnas probably already knew about the plan and told Axel to be a spy/take them out. Axel saved Sora because the Organization needed him to collect hearts for them.

 

Yeah, Xemnas seems to be almost omniscient within the Organization. Axel was planted within Marluxia's group as he was very loyal to the organization, and was powerful enough to dispatch of Larxene at least, if not Marluxia.

Sora was saved, or preserved, shall we say, as he had the drive to destroy the Heartless, while he was ignorant of the Organizations goal. While Roxas was around at this time, his allegiance to the Organization was susceptable to change. Sora never had an allegiance, but was doing their job for them.

 

at that point in time, they had Roxas to collect hearts for them. that was why Roxas was such a valuable member to the org.

 

Two keybladers are better than one though. They're a rather impatient bunch; I bet the idea of having both Roxas AND Sora collecting hearts at the same time made them very happy... well, pretend happy anyways.

Either Axel was a spy, or like he said, he found Sora "Worth" saving. So Axel did it because he was ordered or because he felt like it really.

 

Why would they have done anything? Sora was already collecting hearts, just like they wanted.

 

Axel's -personal- objective was most probably to see Sora through the castle safely, so that he could continue helping the Organisation without knowing... His overall objective was most probably to remove the "bad seeds" so to speak from the Organisation (Marluxia, Larxene etc...) for Xemnas... They didn't act in Kingdom Hearts 1 because it would have been to soon, as they would have been still sorting out and organising everything, down to the letter as to what they were going to do... It would have also taken time to gather enough Nobodies to eventually take down the worlds I'm guessing... You can't take over twelve worlds with seven people who arent really meant to exist...

True, but Xenmas in the Kingdom Hearts FM (yes the japanese version) actually does confront Sora, but his face is shielded so we can't make out who it is. So I am thinking he was keeping tabs on Sora and observing him before having a reason to act.

 

((Axel didn't want Marluxia to overthrow the organization. Sora was going to be Marluxia's pawn or puppet. Zexion also wanted to stop Marluxia's plan, but he was killed to ensure he would not speak of the things that went down in Oblivion Castle...))
