What "slang" do you use?

I guess this is the right section for this. But I was curious, seeing how we have people from across America, and across the world, what slang do you use? What are some words that your state or country uses that people look at you and go, "What does that mean?" I'm from Boston, so some of my words are, when some is cool, it's "wicked" awesome. And our Liquor stores are called packeys. What are some of yours?

 

I think I say awesome a lot. That's the only thing I can think of at the moment. Oh, and we call it soda, not pop. And butterflies are not flutterflies. Those are some word differences that popped into my head just now.

 

Usually, we have too many insults to name in the British slang. And just speakin' in the accent leaves enough assumption that all we speakin' is slang. But anywho, if you don't know, we have the infamous insult "wanka" in possession. And that usually means a person who masturbates.

As for a "twat" which is a ... just go to UrbanDictionary or Google it. They sure will have it. As for normal slang, we usually call people not by their names very often. No, we don't say "chap", we say "fello" or "bloke". Or perhaps if you are a lady / girl, then we are polite enough to refer you by your real name a majority of the time. :3​

 

i hardly use any except i say "WTF" (the actual letters, lol) and one time a friend made fun of me for saying "lol" (pronouncing it as if it were a real word). i also say "you got served" whenever i own someone in a game

 

Same here with the "you got served" stuff. When I "serve" people games, I may also say "PWNED!"

 

Coming from my neighborhood lolol we'd say;

wuddup (hai hao r u)
wuz good (hao r u)
straight upp (agreed)
hell naww (hell no.)
just chillin (just hanging around)
nikka lolol just meanin friend or bro works too =]

 

I use WTF,LOL,LMAO,OMG
Well I use alot of text talk to irritate my friends,and I act like I'm from Statin Island.

same here. british is fun, australian is my fave. i do text talk in my writing.

 

Hmm, well the only ones that I use that stand out right now are:

-Pop (It's never soda around here)
-Yo (hey or hello)
-That's fancy (Neat or overdone. Extra cool?)
-Snazzy (Cool, spiffy, sweet, etc)
-Whatevs (Whatever)

Those are basically all I can think of right now. But I always find it funny when people look at me when I call a soda a pop. xD

I know you're joking, but when people stereotype British people it really bugs me.
I mean, I LIVE their and I've never heard people speak like that |:

We have so much slang here, it's ridiculous xD
Infact some people say its like we don't use proper english anymore O.O
I couldn't list what slang words I use..because well, I use them too much and throw them around carelessly xD

 

i usually use kick a$$, bad a$$, and any other forms of the two. i probably use more, but i simply dont notice ^^;

 

I don't adsactly keep record of the slang I use but I guess I use typical average slang.

 

well, we use some english words on our slang

like:

chilling(like "cool","neat", "nice")
right through("really", "true")


well, we use other slang like...erm...can't think of anything else right now.

 

I like to say shizz and shizzy alot.

 

I don't use slang, unless I'm making fun/mocking people that DO use it. I mean I DO use the word dude a lot, but who doesn't?

 

I say dude in just about every other sentence.

 

Scundered, craic, dander, bant(er), gutties, poke, slider, etc etc etc

We have a lot in Northern Ireland =/ And I couldn't explain them even if I tried xD

 

Alright, I've thought of a few more things that I say a lot.

"Gotta" instead of "got to"
Hiya
Whatchya doin? instead of "What are you doing?"

And I also say cool, awesome, dude, and "Wow...just wow" a lot. I don't know why, I just do. At least, I think I do.

 

I use slang and 1337 words.

I greet with "Sup man!" and end a conversation with "Later bro!" I say things like "Chu" instead of you. Thats about it.
