Kingdom Hearts II What Roxas Said to Sora

Okay, if this thread has already been made, it can be deleted. I searched, but probably not hard enough and I didn't see this around.... ANYWAYS......

When Roxas was fighting Sora in the World That Never Was, he said some things to Sora I ignored at first. But now with the new Kingdom Heart games coming out and such, I payed closer attention to it.

At one point, during their small battle, Roxas said to Sora, "Tell me... tell me why he chose you." Then after a while, Roxas said, "I see... that's why."

... I'm very confuzzled. It probably doesn't have any meaning what so ever, but I'm just curious. Who was Roxas talking about? Who chose Sora? DiZ, Riku, Terra maybe or maybe somebody completely different? Any thoughts or explanations on this?

 

I've also been wondering that =/. I have no idea what he means.

 

I think Roxas sees how similar Sora's fighting style is to his

 

well ive read sum theory (forgot where -.-) where like the keyblade master would choose the next person who would wield it
like when ur about to fight terra he supposidly says "You are not the one I have chosen" or sumthing like that when he sees sora's keyblade, cause riku was actually originally going to get that keyblade but he didn't cause blah blah blah (too lazy to type it xD)

anyways so roxas probably knew that most likely ven chose sora and he wanted to know whY?
but when he saw how good sora was at fighting, that probably answered his question cause it would make sense that the keyblade master would be able to fight well xD

 

i think he's talking xemnas, why he chose sora to fight heartless instead of him. and he see's why.

 

When he looks at Sora after asking, the Kairi picture looks right at him : o
It kind of looks like it was intentional, and I always thought that was what he meant.
No idea why he would say that because of Kairi liking Sora, though.
And, yeah, whoever it was who said this, he could've been talking to Mansex : O
At first, I thought he was talking to Riku x'3 Like "why did you sacrifice me to save him?", but that's pretty obvious, since they're best friends <___<'

Maybe he could've meant Ven as well or Terra I think that is the highest possibility OR DiZ that could be possible too

 

not Terra and Ven, everyone except Xemnas and possibly Mickey even know about their existence.

The Keyblade: chose Sora instead of Roxas, because Sora was a bheing of light and "he" was mistranslated, it was supposed to be "it" (supposedly)
Axel: why did he choose to die for Sora (his death triggered Roxas' awakening)

as to "i see...that's why"
Sora's friend, he's a being of light
and fights for his friends
his friends give him power
i guess

 

I think "he" was just a mistranslation, they got confused while talking about Riku, he probably was asking Sora why the Keyblade had chosen him. Or, I heard people saying that "he" might be referring to Axel, but I still have more faith in the mistranslation theory.

 

I believe Roxas was refering to Riku/DiZ, since they both plotted to attack Roxas and merge him with Sora.

 

but why would the picture of Sora and his friend's answer Roxas's question of why Riku/Diz plotted against him?

the question was "why did HE choose Sora"
after Roxas sees Sora's picture and his friends on the Station he says "i see...that's why"

What did Sora's friends have to do with Riku or Diz choosing him over Roxas? and why did Roxas care if Riku nor Diz was important/close/friendly to him?

 

Well this has been brought up before and I really don't know the answer.
Maybe Roxas could like...see into his true heart or something like that. ​

 

It was a mistranslation. It was suppose to be "it", rather than "he". So Roxas was talking about the Keyblade. And on top of that, it wouldn't have made much sense.

Is in the Japanese version. And somewhat that can translate can easily do it for anyone.

 

I think he was asking why Axel chose Sora instead of himself (Roxas). in the final mix version there is an extra scene where they state that Axel's sacrifice awakened Roxas inside Sora. So Roxas wanted to know why his best friend ended up choosing to help Sora over bringing back Roxas.

As to when Roxas says "I see... that's why." He was in the air and looking down at the ground. Remember they are fighting on the station of awaking (the stain glass place) on the ground you can see a big picture of sora and his friends. I think Roxas realized this at that moment. Axel helped Sora after realizing that if he brought Roxas back, then he would be taking Sora away from all of Sora's best friends. So Axel backed out on his decision because he knew what it was like to lose your best friend.

It is pretty sad; however, in the same extra scene, that I was referring to before, The organization members also state something like that Axel may have gained something by putting his life on the line. That may mean that Axel was reborn with his heart.

It is believed by many fans that if you kill someone's heartless and then their nobody, then they will be reborn anew. I heard a theory once that Axel's heartless was the one you fought in Wonderland in KH1. That could very well be true since a person with a strong heart, who turns into a heartless, will be more monstrous in appearance then someone with a weak heart. the exception for this rule would be kh1 Xehanort and Sora, but that could be explained by the fact that they gave up their heart willingly.

It is the opposite for nobodies. The more human looking a nobody is, the stronger the heart.
