What if Sora and Roxas switched?

What if the main characters were Roxas, Axel and Xion, and Sora, Riku, and Kairi were nobodies? Would you like the series even more? What would happen to the storyline?

 

Being that I like those characters more because of character development reasoning, it is sad to say the series wouldn't be such a success. They all are a bit too serious compared to Sora's layed back personality.

 

While Kingdom Hearts is a series that takes itself seriously at the right times, it isn't, overall, a dire series. I can see that which each coming game, the atmosphere gets a little darker, but it still retains that piece of it that makes it a series for all ages.

Roxas, Xion, and Axel are a melancholy trio, Nobodies, and they're very . . . serious, I guess. I feel like it would give the overall games a darker tone, and personally, I might not enjoy that. With Sora's laid back personality, and having his friends, I think that keeps things more lighthearted and not so . . . sad, I suppose. Given the chance, maybe having Roxas as the main character would be a good turn out, but he would need lots of character development, and they would have to move past his angst-like atmosphere quickly.

 

I think if Kingdom Hearts had a darker tone and maybe didn't feature Disney characters, it would work out.

 

I would probably like that and yeah as people said they are a bit serious than Riku,Sora, and Kairi but looking at the short clip from 1.5 Remix they seemed kinda not as serious as in 358/2 days especially Axel and again in the last scenes in days where they're shoving each other at the clocktower. Maybe if they're given some freedom from the Org. XIII they'll start losing up a bit and so the game would be different but not as dark as you'd expect.
