Kingdom Hearts What exactly is kingdom hearts?

ok, so i dont kno if this question was already posted or not(sry if it was) but what exactly is kingdom hearts, i mean i kno its the heart of all worlds but in the first one, why was it light, then why were mickey and riku in it? and if they were in it then isnt that the door to darkness? and if it is than kingdom hearts IS the door to darkness? im sooo confused lol.

 

I think only Nomura know what KH really is...anyway it's an abstract concept like everything else in the game, everything turn around the concept of light and darkness! I'm sorry but there isn't a true and a right definition of KH...

 

kingdom hearts is the door to darkness thats why Sora had to close it in the end.

 

I think that Kingdom Hearts is the center or "heart" of all the worlds. It makes sense that all the worlds will be connected. And it also makes sense that in every heart there is darkness. So, if Kingdom Hearts is the biggest most giant heart ever, then that's where Darkness will reside. Obviously, It would have light as well, because there is also light in every heart. (Unless it's lost.) This brings in the Keyblade and the Heartless. When people started turning into heartless, they began eating the hearts of the worlds. Or in the words of Ansem "Tying them to the darkness" By this, they are eating the heart of the world, and somehow fusing it with the dark side of Kingdom Hearts, destabilizing and destroying the world that they stole it from in the process. So, either KH or someone (Possibly the Chasers?) created the Keyblade as a focus for magic/light, and to stop the Heartless and block them from eating the hearts. Obviously, the light side of Kingdom Hearts is where the Hero's strength comes from, (Except for Riku of course) and what keeps everything in existence. Because you cant have Light without Darkness and darkness without light, the Light cant simply destroy the Darkness and the darkness cant simply destroy the light. This is why the keyblade "choses" someone to fight the Heartless, kind of like a Soldier of Light against a Army of Darkness.

 

Kingdom Hearts is the most powerful heart in the game and evil people want to take it and turn it into darkness. But when its actually light. So Sora, a kid that lives on an island with his friends, is the chosen one to keep that from happening. So he goes on a journey with Donald Duck and Goofy, who on a search for King Mickey, to save Kingdom Hearts from darkness...
