Kingdom Hearts What do you think that room in End of the World is?

    I've been re-playing Kingdom Hearts I, and so I wanted to bring up something that is probably overlooked by some people. In the World Terminus area of End of the World, you revisit areas of most of the world's you've been to. However, upon going through the portal where Hollow Bastion should be (right after Neverland), you come across an unfamiliar room. It's a narrow hallway that has a giant Heartless symbol at the end. Halfway down the hall, there is a small room with some form of giant machine. There are also small black and orange portals in that room, but you can't walk through them. By examining part of the machine, you can read information about Kingdom Hearts.

    People probably forget about this a lot, because once you leave this area, it disappears and the portal turns into the entrance to the Chernabog battle.

    After reading "Ansem's" Report again, I think the most plausible explanation is that it's the underground laboratory in Hollow Bastion where Xehanort and the other apprentices studied and created the Heartless. It's pretty incredible how much layering there is in this game XD

    Still, there's no concrete evidence to show for, so I want to hear if anybody else has any theories.

    I never thought of that. You might be right. It could also be one of the rooms in the secret area of Hallow Basion that Xemnas goes to in the FM+ scene with Aqua's armor. You know, the doors before he reaches that room. One of them could lead there.

    When I replayed KH after I finished KHII, sometime ago lol. 2 years I Think. I thought It Was Xehanort's Lab too, it is really the only possible explanation, cuz u know It looks like a lab too lol!! But like Azura said it might be when he went to the place with Aqua's mirror~

    But overall I stick to the conclusion its the apprentices Lab :P

    Well, what I'm saying is it could be a room near there but that it could still be their lab, and that's how Xemnas knows about that whole area as well as the password for it.

    Ahh yea I Get ya~ Just like a random room (being the lab) in there. So like it could be all our speculations wrapped into one area. Maybe we will never know, *sigh*

    We might find out. It could be in BBS as like an epilogue, or it could be in 358/2 Days.

    Ahh yea very true! I hope it does pop up someone in future releases, its the small things like this that really rack my brains!!!

    i think the room wasn't anything special and just doesn't matter.


    and if it does then i think it is where the KH1 secret ansem reports were written.

    that machine is in hollow bastion...so perhaps yes. But they do look different and the rooms it is in is different

    That room isn't there anymore probably.
    It was probably how the room were you fought Riku/Ansem was ten years ago,when Ansem was still there.
    But if not,yeah,there's something about that place.

    Thinking about it now; after reading your theory I have to say I agree with you.

    Another part of me however, just thinks it doesn't matter and the room is just...Nothing. xD Maybe it's made to make us think about something that doesn't even...exist, or relate to anything. o_o Mind-screwing.    ​

    I believe that it was one of the labs from Organization 13.

    Ansem's main lab was revealed in KH2, but it could be another one.

    Honestly, I think it's just one of those "Let's hint at this and use it if we can later," kind of things. It probably doesn't mean anything.

    I did forget about it, but its a good point. I don't know if the room is still there though, it wasn't mentioned in KHII.
