When I first heard of it, all I got out of it was Disney and a little boy with a big key...

Then this older kid up the road bought it and showed me the case on day, and that night I had a dream about it

I went to the mall where my brother worked (in reality he worked at Mexican restaruant) and went to the video game store, I saw an open KH case with the game behind, I showed my brother and he said since no one claimed it I could keep it. (so it belonged to someone yet the store was selling it?)
I went home and put it in my playstation 1 (not 2) and then I was Sora, i didn't play as Sora, I was Sora.
In the game I walked into Donald's house and shrunk to a few inches tall, for some reason I didn't want to be found, so I avoided Donald. Then after he left I jumped into a baby's crib, made my way across to a table and picked up his house key (not kingdom key, a real life house key) and managed to get his door open (yes, i unlocked it from the inside using the key) as soon as I walked out, I grew and so did the key and I was like "so this is where the big ass key comes from...It's Donalds!" and I woke up

    lol

    what did you expect?

it was a suprise gift for me, i had seen 1 commercial for it, and i though "that looks soo cool :D" and at that time i had never played a final fantasy game, but some of my friends were huge fans of it, and got KH and they told me how good it was... and a few days later someone gave it to me as a gift

I thought it looked pretty interesting. I never saw the commercials for it so I wasn't influenced based on advertisements. My firend brought it over for a sleep over and I guess you could say I was influenced by "peer pressure" to buy the game. I was pretty young at that sleep over and it was years later that I actually decided to buy KH1 and KH2.

Honestly? I thought it was some lame Disney game (I was mad at Disney at the time. All that Hannah Montana/Jonas Brothers/HSM crap...) and I wanted absoultely nothing to do with it. My best friend forced me to watch her play, and I changed my mind. Almost a year later, I mysteriously found myself on a Kingdom Hearts forum... *trails off*

My friend showed me the game and I didn't really get it at first. But, about 3 to 4 years later, I got 1 and 2 for Christmas. The next X-mas year, I got KH 2 Final Mix seeing as how i didn't find the normal ones as appealing after watching FM youtube vids...lol.

I hadn't watched or played anything to do with Final Fantasy or anime, or played many games so I had no idea what to expect. A trailer just looked good, so I took a chance and bought it. So lucky that I did ^^

I remember when it first came out they kept having spotlights of it on Disney channel, where they'd spend like a minute or something talking about it and explaining what it was about, and every time I saw one of those I would want it more and more. It just looked soo awesome!! I've always loved classic Disney stuff, and I've always loved video games, so I was like "Holy crap I need that."

Unfortunately, I didn't have a Playstation. It took me until 2004 to convince my dad to get me a Playstation 2 (I think I got it for Christmas, with KH right next to it of course :D). I remember thinking I was sooo cool, because I was 14, and Sora was 14, and then the next year when KH2 came out I was 15, and Sora was 15, and I was like whoa, this is obviously a sign.

So yeah, basically I bought a highly expensive gaming platform just for this one game. Am I a great fan or what??

I read about it in a Atari game magazine. At first, I didn't did anything with it, but after a few years, I just decided to give Kingdom Hearts II a try by purchasing it. I fell in love.

The first time I heard of it was at my friend's house. He already had the game and was playing it. I was like, "OMG! I want that game!"

I'd seen commercials and remembered thinking it looked cool, if not a little dorky (I thought I was too old for Disney in THIRD GRADE? Wtf D: ... )
I got it for Christmas in '02 and couldn't get past the first boss, so I forgot about it until 6th grade when I picked it up again and thought it was like the coolest thing ever.
    ...
    And that's about it.

    Um...
Kingdom Hearts came out in 2002. XD
Also, a lot of us haven't been into KH lately. It's just normal between games to get bored =P.

I can't remeber when I first heard of it. But I liked the idea of merging Disney with a video game. And the cover looked dark enough to not be too kiddish of a game (didn't stop my brother from ridiculing me endlessly...until he played the game :) )

hmm... when I was 7 or 8, my cousin was obsessed with KH when it first came out and she brought a huge poster of it. It looked really lame so I didn't play it until I was in grade 5 and started KH2 instead oh KH1 :D

I thought it would be an absolute pile of ****. I didn't want Disney anywhere near my FF.

I eventually decideded meh might as well see what the fuss is about, and I actually liked it rather a lot. Once it has you it has you and lately I have severely tempted to dust off my copy and play it again.

Though I admit I am growing bored of the series.

I saw it at a Target store, and thought it was a good cure for boredom (I was 14) and I didn't have enough money. So that just made me want it that much more, and after I got it, I loved it (though I wanted to see Riku more) I thought it was going to be about some kid of a Disney character who visits different worlds and makes new friends.
