NOTE: By "at first" I mean when you first heard of this game, not when you first played it.

I remember I was. I confess that my first impression was "Oh man, kiddie stuff..." when I saw screenshots.
And at times I still think that (Donald and Goofy's presence in serious cutscenes give me that feeling sometimes).
But it's a really enjoyable game and I'm glad that I gave it a try and got hooked to it. ;)

Were you somewhat skeptical about Kingdom Hearts?

Yeah! I was like, "What do they want to appeal to little kids?" At KH2 I was so pissed off because they don't use Disney stuff in the FF games so why should they with KH?

I'm still sometimes sceptical if I am completely honest.

Whilst I adore the games I still have my doubts at times over how well the combination works.

KH1 I do find to be a little childish, and I think it is obvious that it was a test run for how they would work it. Though it is very fun.

    KH2 I liked much better.

    I don't think it would work if it wasn't Kingdom Hearts, if that makes sense xD;

But hey, got to give things a try you know <3 otheriwse you never find out what it's all really like.

Yeah, when I first saw it I was like..erm... babyish or what? But it helps that the main characters (Sora, Riku, Kairi etc) aren't disney or I think that would have been a major impact.

KH2 was much more grown up and not as childish as 1, as CtR said, I think with more original characters like the org. the balance with Disney was perfect. xD

When I first saw the KH2 cover, I was like, wth, Donald and Goofy?

But I've always liked Disney characters ( xD ) so I didn't mind too much. But I was a little skeptical on whether or not I was too old to play the game...xD

I thought it would be...interesting. KH2 is more sophisticated than KH1. I thought it looked cool though, so I got it and became obsessed xD. As OWS said, the fact that the main characters are originals and not disney definitly helps.

well, since i saw screenshots first, I wasn't skeptical.I actually thought this game was gonna be really original and be the first great game to bring two unrelated universes, Disney and Final Fantasy, together.

To be quite honest, I had no idea what Square Enix was until I played KH. O_o

So, at first, no, because I had no idea what Final Fantasy or anything like that was. I only knew Disney. XD

But I ended up adoring it. KH2 especially -- 15 year old Sora is super friggin' adorable/cute/hot. Naw, that wasn't the only reason I liked it. It was more...serious than the first and I think I liked that more. I grew up a lot more since the first one came out, so I could kind of...understand what was going on and relate to it, all that jazz. When the first came out, I was only freakin' 9. I didn't hear of it until around 2003 or 2004 from my old best friend.

    So...yeah. I guess...I didn't really...care. XD

Not at all. I didn't even know about SE until after I played KH. I didn't even play my first FF game until more than a year after I played KHI.

Nope. Kingdom Hearts was the first Square Enix game I'd ever played, so all I really focused on was the Disney part. And since I'm a big fan of Disney, I thought it would be very interesting and decided to give it a try.

To me, I thought it was interesting but then I took a closer look and found some disney characters. I was suprised at that fact. In my head I could hear a "why is he there?"

oh god, yes! I almost didnt pick it up, because I thought it was going to be some horrible game, and the weapon was stupid, the concept was lame....and then a friend of mine had me sit down and watch him play, I liked it, so I tried it and was hooked by the time I got to the first darkside battle, and couldnt love the series more!

i wasn't really caring to the fact that kingdom hearts had disney in it..
i knew it had to be good anyway since it's square-enix
and disney characters might have a good twist to it
which was what i thought when i first starting playing =]
and thank god that i was right =]

After that I began to like FF especially FF7

Yeah, I can say clearly that at first I didn't want to even play the game because of the Disney. I thought it was the most ludicrous idea and well, I finally picked up the game when I bought FFX and KH was 20 bucks. I grew bored with FFX and popped in KH and played it all the way through, surprised how the game, with the Disney just grew on me. I'm glad I decided to get it, of course.
