So, I had an allergy test done today and I found out that I'm allergic to three things. Mold, maple trees and cats.

As for the cats, I've lived with them all my life. I can't just get rid of them, but should I worry that something serious would happen to me? I never even noticed that I was allergic to them.

That's very strange. But I think you should have an epinephrine pen, just in case. So, if you're allergic to maple trees, does that mean you can't ahve maple syrup?

They didn't say. They just said that I'm allergic to the trees.
Should I worry about death by these things?

How severe did they say your allergies are? If cats have never bothered you, there's no reason to get rid of them unless they're going to give you detrimental health effects.

I don't think you would die, that would be in the worst of the cases, although you may get heavily injured by those...

He didn't make it sound like it was alarming. He just said you had some allergies to cats. I told him that I had cats in my house.

Allergies are a funny thing. Some people are extremely sensitive, and could potentially die. Others have just mild allergy symptoms.

I'm alergic to cats as well.
My cat is currently sitting on my head. (Don't ask.)
I'm fine, and if your just finding out about this, then your probably fine too.

I'm allergic to most fruits and veggies, but I'm still alive.

And you're probably allergic to pollen from the trees, also why you're allergic to mold, which as far as I know is not deadly.

Just maple trees? On my test they told me I was allergic to all trees. xD

Trees, grass, ragweed, mold, and apparently cockroaches. (Don't think there's any here in Michigan anyways). But yeah, when the snow starts to melt in the spring I just feel miserable for 2-3 months.

Nothing specific, just trees and grass.
    But it never bothers me.

I'm also allergic to cats, but after getting a pet one, my allergies to it diminished greatly.

Same with me, except it bothers me a lot. xD

That's usually caused by their dander I believe, so as long as you keep your cat/dog clean and brushed the allergies shouldn't be too bad.

I guess I'm just taking it hard, because my cat died last year and I still haven't gotten over it. I feel that I can never get another cat again because of these problems, but I may just be making a big deal out of nothing...I guess.

    Man...being sensitive sucks.

    What the fuck, Dalk. :/

Anyway, I know it's hard to move on when your pet dies and get a new one, but you never know. Don't look at it as a replacement, but as a new friend. That's how I coped with losing my last dog, it did help some. :]
