I mean, yeah- Elric Bros. finally reunited, new friends made, but them being stuck beyond the Gate, away from their friends from Shamballa (I can't remember the real name of the country) and not able to use alchemy anymore is kind of a sad way to end the series. Not to mention that Noa (who obviously has a thing for Ed) isn't nearly as likable a character as Winry or even Rose- Noa just simply didn't have enough deep lines to become a good character. And Ed is a much better match for Winry anyway (the lifetime friends thing, their short tempers, etc.) but that's not the entire point. And the fact that they're stuck there in the real world without alchemy severely lowers the chances of making a spin-off series based off the tons of new manga made ever since the series' end. So all-in-all it left me with a feeling that more could've been done... I'm done ranting now, I just wanted to say that.

I was happy with the ending. Also, the creator didn't want it the anime to be the same as the manga, so don't be surprised that there won't be a spin-off based off of the manga.

    Not at all.

In all my years, Fullmetal is the only anime I have ever seen that has had a good everything.
Eng dub, story, ending... even the FILLERS are good.

The ending of the anime quite literally made me bawl my eyes out, then style my hair like Edwards for no reason -pokes her hair doinker-

But when I saw the movie I swear to Gee-sus I felt such warmth in my heart. I absolutly LOVE it.

I disagree! Slightly. Since Edward and Alphonse are both in Munich now, they can't do alchemy, which... kinda takes out the purpose of FullMetal ALCHEMIST, doesn't it??? I thought the ending of the movie itself was good, but the fact that Edward is now disconnected permanently from Winry (EdWin supporter here), Roy, etc. is really sad. Oh well, what's completed is completed, and there isn't anything we can do about it, right?

I was ticked off, to be honest...until Ed found Al in the suit of armor at the end. I"m pretty sure I cried happy tears for that. It is kinda sad, though, that the conflicts didn't last as long as we'd hoped. The whole fight scene was extremely short...mostly just monologue. I HATE monologue.

Exactly. I thought that there would be some awesome, dramatic, headache causing fight scene at the end of the movie with Eckhart and Edward, but no, the animators decide to give us a... spar that doesn't even last half as long as the monologue preceding it. Even the spars between Ed and Al during the series were better than THAT. Geez... One of the only one-on-one fight scenes that includes Ed is a complete let-down. Also, for almost two thirds of the movie, Edward is almost obsessed with his desire to get back to Amestris, but at the end, even though Hohenheim sacrificed himself to get Ed back home, he goes BACK to Munich. I'm aware of the whole "I never really knew if Al was alive or not. I was afraid that I'd failed. But now, I can bear it." line from Ed explaining that he doesn't want to go back to Amestris- but that's TWO THIRDS into the movie! *sigh* Oh well... life goes on.
    ...*looks up*...
...Wow, that was a long rant... *cough* I'm done for now. Sorry if it was too long.
