Yes a tank is good, but over-played and therefore a party is less likely to take a warrior, because chances are, they already have 2-3 or more warriors. A ranged attacker/mage are some of the least used (at least when I played MS) classes, and people ALWAYS were looking for one to join them for support.

Well, if you want to get into a party quickly, I've found mages get into one quickly.

Im sure you know this already but I will post some information for each class:

    Warrior

Beginner stat point distribution Try to add STR at every lvl (till lvl 10) until the STR is at the 40 mark. After that, add everything into DEX. The SP distribution charts for lvl 10-70 will be shown later Try not to lvl past 10, or else you will lose valuable SKP (skill points). Do not add any points into: HP / MP / LUK / INT.

    Stat point adding

When most newbie or beginners start playing the game, they will not know what stat points to add. Is it LUK, STR, INT, or DEX. Some will try to make their stats even so that they will have there warrior even. Well they're wrong following this guide and you will have a decent warrior. For a range of 5 lvls: Every 3 lvls add all SP into STR. Every 2 lvls add all SP into DEX I am assuming your warrior has 4/4 in LUK and INT. Lvl 10=40STR / Lvl 15=55STR / Lvl 20=70STR / Lvl 25=85STR / Lvl 30=100STR When you are lvl 30-40, some equipment require you to add more STR. So instead of STR for every 3 lvls. Add STR for every 4-5 Lvls necessary. My recommendation would be to add STR for 4 lvls, and DEX for1 lvl. The equipment that you wear like your lvl 35 glove is 125 STR. You should have 120 STR at lvl 35. With your equipment, you should be able to wear the glove. Keep the STR for 4 lvls and DEX for 1 lvl this way forever. On the other hand, you could always add STR all the way until lvl 40. Then start adding your DEX in. 3 STR, 2 DEX for each lvl. Therefore, you can fill in the DEX that you missed from lvl 30-40.

    Choosing skills

Improving HP Recovery, Master Lvl 16: You can recover more HP when you are standing or sitting on a bench. Improving Max HP Increase, Master Lvl 10: While having a lvl up, if SP are used on Max HP, it raises the lvl for Max HP. Endure, Master Lvl 8: When you are hanging on a rope or ladder, you gain HP. Iron Body, Master Lvl 20: This skill increases your defense for a period of time. Power Strike, Master Lvl 20: Use MP to deliver a killer blow to a monster with your weapon you are holding. Slash Blast, Master Lvl 20: Use HP and MP to attack every enemy around you with a weapon. Here is my recommendation for distributing your SKP. 5 in Improving HP Recovery Max out Improving HP Increase Max out Power Strike Max out Slash Blast Add 3 into Endure, Rest into Iron Body if possible.

    Training

When I first started out as a warrior (my good one), I had troubles figuring which places to train at. But now I know which place is good, and which place is bad. Here is a list of where you should train: Lvl 10-20 Slime tree all the way. Its good exp. Lvl 15-20 if you get bored along the way, try pig beach if you can afford pots Lvl 20-25 Pig beach, I hope most know how to get there by now. Green mushroom or blue horned mushroom. Don't go to Ant tunnel just yet, stay in the trees in Ellina for now. Lvl 25-30 (if you have good weapons) Wild boars, located 1 map east of perion. It¡¯s in the big double doors located below the map.

    Magician

Beginner stat point distribution The Mage's main stat is INT. This stat increases magic damage and defense. It also increases the amount of MP you get per level up. You will be spending most of your stat points in here. LUK is the secondary stat. It raises availability and decreases the amount of EXP you lose when you die. It does not matter what your INT and LUK are as long as you rolled at least STR and DEX as fives or lower. If you didn't get the stats you want click the little red dice next to your character at character creation.

    Leveling Tips

LVL 1-8: Here you should still be on Maple Island the first island. Stay in the first few areas of the island and fight green and blue snails. Once you're at lvl 8 move on to Victoria Island by taking the Victoria form South Perry.

LVL 8-13: Start fighting in the training area one screen west of Heresy¡¯s is the bowman town. You want to stay on the bottom floor of the area and fight the snails you see. Use your Energy Bolt as often as possible and when MP runs out stand on the key on both side of the screen and recover.

LVL 13-18: Time to move up a floor in the training area. This floor is covered with Green Slimes. These will do about 6 damages to you if you haven¡¯t bought all the armor. These give 10 EXP a pop so things go buy pretty quickly.

LVL 18-20: Either stay on the slime Floor for a level or two more or move up to the Orange shroom floor. The orange shroom will give 15 EXP per kill but you will have to take about 3 shots to kill them which by now aren¡¯t a whole lot of MP but takes a while
LVL 21-30: To the Horny Mushroom tree. These guys will give you over .10% for the next few levels. Fight these guys all the way up to level 30

LVL 25-31: Do the PQ if you want too. Mages are the most useful character in the PQ and will be accepted into parties easier. If you don't feel like waiting for the PQ then just go level on Horny Mushrooms.

LVL 31-40: Either level on boars or fire boars there are a bunch of spots near Perion like the burning zone or the land of wild boars.

    Bowman

Stats points allocation As an archer, you will only need STR and DEX. You shouldn't ever put points in any of the other categories. You should also try to roll a 4 INT and 4 LUK build when you create your character. If you don't want to waste 15+ minutes, you can also try to get a 4/5 or a 5/5.

As an archer, you will only need STR and DEX. You shouldn’t ever put points
in any of the other categories. You should also try to roll a 4 INT and 4 LUK build when you create your character. If you don't want to waste 15+ minutes, you can also try to get a 4/5 or a 5/5.
You should always have 5 more STR than your level since you want to be a hunter. For a crossbowman, you will need as much strength as your level. Example:
Level 35 hunter should have 40 STR.
Level 35 crossbowman should have 35 STR.
This is because of the strength requirement on bows/crossbows and other pieces of equipment. Put ALL the remaining points in your DEX. Dexterity is what will affect your damage. Higher is your DEX, higher is your damage.
    What you need to know:
STR = your level +5 (hunter)
    DEX = every remaining points
    Level - STR
    10 15
    15 20
    20 25
    25 30
    30 35
    35 40
    40 45
    45 -- (No new equipment)
    50 55
    55 -- (No new equipment)
    60 65
    65 70
    70 75
    80 85
Every other point should be in DEX.
I would put the 5/10 points in STR at the level you need it. For example,
If you need 20 STR at level 15, I would put the 5 points in STR all in one shot, at level 15. If you don't, you will do a little less damage from level 11 to 15.

    Archer builds

As an archer, you will want to max critical shot as soon as possible. It will be useful forever. It works with every offensive skills and normal attack. Amazon's eye is also a necessity. Shooting monster from a big distance can save you a lot of time and potions. As for which attack skill to take between arrow blow and double shot, refer to the proper section.
    Level - Skill points
    10 +1 blessing
    11 +2 blessing +1 eye
    12 +3 eye
    13 +3 eye
    14 +1 eye +2 critical
    15 +3 critical
    16 +3 critical
    17 +3 critical
    18 +3 critical
    19 +3 critical
    20 +3 critical
21 +3 double shot/arrow blow (1 in AB is required for DS)
    22 +3 double shot/arrow blow
    23 +3 double shot/arrow blow
    24 +1 double shot/arrow blow
    25 save
    26 +8 double shot/arrow blow
    27 +2 double shot/arrow blow
    28
    29
    30
Having more range at the beginning will make you save a lot of cash that you would spend on potions. Having more range means being farther and safer. Critical is of course a necessity. As for level 25, saving your points is a good idea since after level 10, double shot/arrow blow consumes two times the MP. So if you save your points, you won't have to buy two times as much MP potions for only a little more damage. For level 28/29/30, you can spend your points in either blessing or focus. If you go without final attack in second job, you should take focus because you will have enough remaining points to max it.

    Training tips
-In your early levels, you may want to use a melee weapon instead of a bow. If you do this, you will save a lot of cash, but you will probably level slower. Some even put points in strength to have better melee damage. You can do it if you want to. Just don't put too much point in it.
-Some people will try to steal your kills in your early levels. There are not a lot of solutions for this. The best one would be to go at a less crowded map, or to change channels.
-After level 35, you may consider buying mana potions to level. Before this, it's not really needed. It will just make you poorer. Once you start one hit killing boars, buying mana potions is the best solution. You will level twice as fast as you did.
-At level 40, you may start to use scrolls on your bow. At first, you probably won't have enough money for 60%, but 100% can do. One extra attack can give you around 6 more damage at that level. More you level, the damage you get is higher.
-Some of you may want to use bronze or steel arrows for more damage. It will help you only if you don't use soul arrows. I used to think that soul arrow works with those arrows since the damage is shown in the stats screen. After had some experiments, I came to the conclusion that these arrows don't work with soul arrow. (I killed a snail and my damage was under my minimum, even if the snails have 0 defenses.)
-Use jump shooting the most possible. You won't have to stop to kill the monsters, which can save you a lot of time.
-Using warrior potions and speed potions can make your leveling much faster.

    Thief

Thieves are the hardest class to use in the game. They level very slowly due to a low amount of damage, but have some fun skills to use. You can become either a Dagger Thief or a Claw Thief. Dagger Thieves become Bandits at level30, while Claw thieves become Assassins. Claw thieves are the most expensive class to have in the game, so remember to pick wisely! However, after LV40 or so, Thieves are some of the strongest classes in the game.

    Beginner Stat Descriptions

There are six stats you can increase when you level up. They are Hit Points,
Mana Points, Strength, Intelligence, Dexterity and Luck.
STR: The amount of damage you do at the beginning for thieves is NOT based on STR. So just put it up SLIGHTLY if you want to become a STR Dagger Thief. Keep it at 4 or 5 if you are other type of Thief.
INT: Your spell damage is based on this. This is USELESS for thieves, only used for Mages. Keep it at 4 or 5.
DEX: This determines your accuracy and avoids ability. You need 25 of this to become a Rogue, your first job advancement. Put it up to 25 ASAP. After that, DEX should be twice your level so that you will have the new equipment.
LUK: This is your biggest stat. It determines your damage. Whatever you don't put into DEX goes into here (unless you're a STR Dagger Thief). Don’t care your HP and MP at the beginning, they’ll increase on its own and you don't need to give them a boost.

    Stat Build - Claw Thief

Stat Build - Claw Thief When you start, you get either 4 STR or 4 INT. One of them could be 5 if you don't want to spend too much time. Keep rolling the dice until that happens or your stats will suffer.
    LV10: 25 DEX, 37 LUK
    LV15: 30 DEX , 57 LUK
    LV20: 40 DEX , 72 LUK
    LV25: 50 DEX , 87 LUK
    LV30: 60 DEX , 102 LUK
As you can see, DEX should be twice your level, and LUK should have everything else. Put up your LUK by 5 each time for 3 levels, then put up DEX by 5 twice so that you will have enough DEX to upgrade your armour and weapons. For example:

    LV21 +5 LUK LV23 +5 LUK LV25 +5 DEX LV27 +5 LUK LV29 +5 DEX
    LV22 +5 LUK LV24 +5 DEX LV26 +5 LUK LV28 +5 LUK LV30 +5 DEX

This will give you enough DEX to upgrade your weapons, putting up LUK to increase your maximum damage, so it's best to put that up as fast as you can. You will need 10 less than usual, so just put DEX in at level 49, 50, 59, 60,etc. You only need 90 DEX at level 50, 100 DEX at level 60, etc. The ratio changes from 3 LUK to 2 DEX and becomes 4 LUK to 1 DEX.

Stat Build - LUK Dagger Thief

When you start, you get either 4 STR or 4 INT.

Stat Build - STR Dagger Thief

When you star, get 4 INT, don't worry about the rest of the stats. Keep doing this or your stats will suffer.

    LV10: 10 STR, 25 DEX, 31 LUK
    LV15: 10 STR, 30 DEX, 51 LUK
    LV20: 10 STR, 40 DEX, 66 LUK
    LV25: 15 STR, 50 DEX, 76 LUK
    LV30: 20 STR, 60 DEX, 86 LUK
You are the only type of thief who requires STR because your dagger has STR requirements, STR does not affect your damage. DEX should be twice your level, check how many STR the next dagger needs and increase that accordingly, put the rest of your stats into LUK and the amount of DEX needed for the next weapon/armour upgrade. After Level 40, your DEX requirement decreases. You will need 10 less than usual, so just put DEX in at level 49, 50, 59, 60, etc. Put up however much STR you need for your next dagger. You only need 90 DEX at level 50, 100 DEX at level 60, etc.

Im sure you wont read all of this but I suggest it, it is very helpful to let you know what will work best for you...

Mages do some pretty good dmg, but a decently raised warrior can fight off monsters way higher than it's lvl because of all the hp and strength they have. Although, i dont go in parties so im not sure what people want which class.

I have a warrior and a thief.I think a thief is good as you have both ranged and melee attack and you have rather high dexterity. If you do not want to get injured, bowman or magician.

If magician....play as a cleric on 2nd job.
Warriors are good because I used to own one of them.
Thieves are good but Bowman is better because you have the best ranged attck and high dextirity.

I chose thieves cuz they fun after lv 40, but easiest is mage.
