After much thought(I say that to much,:nono:), I began to wonder why Riku has the Dark Keyblade in Kingdom Hearts 1, but he has the souleater after that. Why change his keyblade to a kriffing bat wing(dracula wants it back), and is the spellbinder even a keyblade!? Please answe my questions.

In Kingdom Hearts 1 I think he gets that keyblade in Hollow Bastion. I don't know for sure for as you know, Ampex, I have not played Kingdom Hearts 1.

1.Riku didn't really use that keyblade Ansem did when he was possesing him.
2.once Riku found out people were using him he wanted to get rid of the darkness in his heart, that weapon was a weapon of darkness, hence he probably didn't want it anymore.
3.The most important reason:It got destroyed.

    And yes,Spellbinder is a keyblade.

Well Rockin Roxas pretty much covered it, but I'll post what I wanted to put anyways.

The Dark Keyblade wasn't exactly Riku's, but Ansem's. When Riku gave up on Darkness, he stopped using the major powers that he got from Ansem, which included being able to summon that Keyblade.

However, I think that Road to Dawn is like a fusion of that Keyblade and his Soul Eater (as a result of him being able to use both the powers of Darkness and Light). What makes me think this is that Road to Daw has the Heartless symbol at the end of it's chain, yet still looks similar to Soul Eater.

Riku was chosen by Soul Eater from the beggining. If you watch the first boss battle with him, after Sora gets the Keyblade back, he uses it. He also used it when he "saved" Sora from those heartless after delivering the Winnie the Pooh book to Merlin. He has had it from the beggining.

Agreed, he got the Soul Eater after leaving Destiny Islands, then, for a short period of time, switched over to the Dark Keyblade. However, once Xehanort's Heartless stopped possessing him, he stopped using it. Even if it hadn't been destroyed, I doubt he would've used it, because at that point, he wanted to rid himself of the darkness.

It's really random that you brought up the Spellbinder, did you mean Soul Eater? That makes a lot more sense and is much more relevant to the rest of your topic.

Another question is, if Riku got Souleater in KH, then why didn't he use it against Roxas?

Oh wait, that is probably in Birth by Sleep, Hence when Ven shouts Xeanhort before bttln sora in the secret bos battle in Kh2. U might not know what Im talkin bout. Oh well. which reminds: I love this motocon

I thought Rockin Roxas was referring to the artificial keyblade made from the 7 princesses hearts. Did Souleater get destroyed?

Didn't Souleater upgrade into "Way to the Dawn"?

First question: No, Souleater didn't get destroyed. Just the Dark Keyblade.

Second question: Most people believe it did, but it is not confirmed.

And yes... Rockin Roxas already answered the topic in general...

Soul Eater never got destroyed. Riku uses it in Kingdom Hearts 2, up until he regains his original form, or was it when he saved Kairi, I cant remember.

From then on he uses Road to Dawn.

I like to think of the Dark blade as a fake blade, containing the hearts of the princesses. Ansem Seeker of Darkness would have learned how to make fake keyblades in birth by sleep. I have a whole theory on it, read my topic in the Birth by sleep section titiled "keyblades at all?"

The Dark Keyblade was a temporary pseudo-Keyblade made by Darkness and the Princesses' Hearts. It was made more by Ansem in construction and Maleficent. Ansem used it when Riku gave in and let him have control of his form.

Soul Eater was there and given to Riku by Maleficent most likely. He used it all through KH and in CoM and in KH2. This was Riku's weapon pretty much after he showed up in Hollow Bastion and encountered Maleficent. He met Sora, as others mentioned, in Traverse Town and used it. Pretty much he always used it except for when Ansem took him over.

As for the question on why he didn't use Soul Eater in his fight with Roxas, I would say that instead, because Roxas hurled Oblivion at him and Riku had a link with that weapon as well (Sora gets it after defeating Riku in Hollow Bastion the first time), Riku decided to just use it so he could prevent it from being thrown at him again. He could summon Soul Eater at will, just as Sora could call the Keyblade so I think he just kept Oblivion instead because it made Roxas have to fight with one weapon and he wouldn't be so casual about hurling one at him for Strike Raid otherwise as he had done.

Or maybe its because Oblivion is stronger than the Soul Eater. And it forces Roxas to only use the Oathkeeper.

    -_-

The simplist answer is usually the best.

Technically Oblivion was stronger than Soul Eater in stats if we want to be looking at it that way. I do think though it was just a strategy to prevent Roxas from using both blades and tossing the weapon again at Riku which could have taken him off guard. Better to be safe than sorry.

I think it is because Riku's heart was pulled out of the darkness. *shrugs*
