    Hm, not untill a game that out-dos FFVII... Sorry to say, but it's hard to overcome classics. Remakes won't have that exact feeling as the original, but I think it would be a nice experience to play FFVII as if it were made in today's modern game making styles and the likes.

    But this may be the reason why Versus is taking so long; They want to work as hard as they can on it so it can be an amazing game. Let's hope that's the case, and that it doesn't take another 5 years...

    I guess Type-0 must have been forgotten about. It's easily better than FFVII. *Gets flamed*

    Anyways, it's a smart choice to make. While it's obvious graphics and battle systems have improved over the years there's still so many flaws, especially when it comes to freedom within Final Fantasy games. XIII-2 was a step in the right direction but it's hard to make such a great Final Fantasy when the step before it was FFXIII(which I actually liked). If Versus does better than XIII then we'll probably start seeing Final Fantasy games becoming much more action-oriented.

    Maybe Square should dump Final Fantasy and bring the Mana series back...for awhile at least. <<;

    It is very crappy of Wada to basically publically put down the teams which work on Final Fantasy like that. VII did as well as it did because it was something of a trendsetter. I'm really not going into how good or how lacking the recent FF games are at this very moment, but his condition seems more like an excuse.

    Also, a slime tamagotchi? WANT

    Even if Square did consider Type-0 better than VII, which they more than likely don't, they would never be able to come out and say "Type-0 is better than VII, so we are remaking VII." Why? Because Type-0 was not really commercial success. At least not a big one. I think that the game would probably have to be comercially and critically successful before they'd even start considering going public with it being better than VII. Which is probably why they didn't mention IX either, the game was just a modest commercial success. At least for being a Final Fantasy game.

    Disagree about this being crappy. Although I can only speak for myself, it feels as if the various staff at Square have never gotten anything but praise. Which is why the quality has been on a decline, they are not getting the complaints people are having. Of course, with the massive amounts of complaints against XIII and especially XIV, they had to listen. This might be the start of a surge in quality from Square. XIII-2 was a step in the right direction, they just need to follow that.

    I see the logic in Wada's statement. They want to concentrate on improving their future rather than rely too heavily on nostalgia. Which is something I can get behind. I would rather see an amazing new game rather than a remake of a classic.

    It's good to see that Square in Japan since the takeover of Eidos are incorporating more Western style techniques. XIII-2 was the first game they ever focus tested and make heavy use of community feedback. Like that was mentioned before, they receive such praise in Japan that they never had any reason to listen to other people. But the kick in the teeth from the West is just what they needed. So if you ask me Square are heading in the right direction, just a shame it took them a whole generation to get to this point.

    I don't necessarily disagree with his statement. But rather implying that titles after VII were really not as good or better. That's basically putting down the enourmous effort of a whole team for countless of years. Which is something I personally can't agree with due to how varied the games are. Which was my point.

    I do agree with the overall admittance of not making games that are triple A titles that everyone has to buy, ect. However, I don't agree with the whole "we suck, so let's not make VII--which was the best" (i may have paraphrased)
