Would it be possible to add a rep feature to VMs? I was just wondering because sometimes the person I'm conversing with makes a comment that demands rep And I have to go looking for a post to rep instead. Thank you for your assistance.
I've had that problem many times. But I am not sure for two reasons: I. I don't know if there's a way to actually implement VM reputation. I think that's only possible with posts. That's the biggest problem. II. I suppose keeping rep on the forums is a good idea, I mean, VMs are just a conversation between two people. You don't really need to "Act funny or bad" with the thought of reputation. It's just a conversation. And as much as it is a pain, I think finding a post to then rep the person is the best way to go. (Still need to actually be able to, given there's a certain amount of people you have to rep in order to rep the person again.)
There's always a way ;) I'm not sure how vBulletin coding works, but you should be able to use a similar code for the rep-gems similar to the forum posts. I agree with you though, it seems unnecessary, as all you'd have to do is to actually find a post.
I don't really see a need for this. Plus what is so bad about finding a post? Indirectly this encourages members to post which is a good thing.
Agreed with this. I just think that rep should be a forum-only thing. If you start repping VMs, you may as well be repping them for PMs or messages on MSN or something. :I
Agreed. I used to think VM rep would be a good idea but then I thought about this a it later. @Mish: Also agreed.
