What video game do you regret not getting around the first time it came out? Mine would have to be FF-X, FFX-2, FFXII, their international editions, Final Mixes, as well the first three Ratchet and Clank games. This doesn't have to be games from Square Enix, I just put this here to remember the hype most games were when they came out.

    None.
I got them eventually, why would I regret it, oh the pre-order bonus? Who cares? It'll just be released as DLC in the future anyway.

I actually usually end up regretting getting games right when they come out.

Most of the games I can afford don't require anything special from a fresh, brand new buy, so I wait until I can buy something used or until one of my friends is finished with their copy and will give it to me.

New games are far too expensive, I mean, $60 for an xbox360 game? It's ridiculous, considering the system is about $200, you're paying out your ass for a disc that may or may not last very long, considering they're sensitive as hell and easily ruined. I'd rather rent games or just wait.

Uhmm, why would you not buying a game when it came out, when you could just buy the game any time later at a cheaper price?

Because we are moving on to another generation of consoles and finding that game can be difficult.

Pretty much every game that I own or will own, because I can never buy a game when it comes out, and that makes me want to get it even more. Games always come out right after my birthday or after Christmas, so I lose the opportunity to get them

There are no games I regret not buying at launch. Often I will come across them again and a whole lot cheaper to boot.
The only exception to this may be old handheld games (Game Boy or Game Boy Color) whose internal batteries have died, but even then some of these games get remade on new platforms or are available via emulator. And even so, I can't really give an example of a Game Boy Color game I really need to play before I die.

I mainly only regret games that i pick up later on, enjoy the multiplayer and no one else is apluing it anymore. A real shame.

    This.

Also, it's not so much regret as it is just forgetfulness and seasonal savings, but I remember getting Assassin's Creed II just about many months after it came out. I was really enjoying to the point where I was raving about it to my friends who already played it and declared it "old news."

In terms of old, old games, I regret not getting Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast. My Dreamcast broke before I realized how awesome it was playing it on my friend's system. :c

I don't regret not getting games, because with emulators and shops such as Amazon, games are fairly easy to come by. Just on Sunday, I got FFIV-VI and Pokémon LeafGreen for the Gameboy, and I've gotten many games for my PS2 on Amazon, such as FFX, FFX-2, and KH Re: CoM. It's really hard to miss out on games now, regardless of Internet access or not.

I don't know of any games that I have regretting not getting on the day it came out, but I have regretting not getting some games sooner. For instance I only got Twilight Princess like 2-3 years ago. I like that feeling of getting something the date it comes out(Pokémon Black 2 being the latest) but after a few weeks it's nothing really special.

    I regret Nothing!

No, I do regret not getting the gen V Pokemon games. I missed out on a lot because of it. I really got them near the end of the generation in fact. Possibly Gen VI will be announced on the 8th. I will not do the same mistake for those after playing BW/BW2
