i've been thinking this for a while. as everyoine knows, there are many gamers in the united states. could it be that those people could have a big impact on the '08 presidential elections. one candidate could do something that would mess with gaming, therefore not get the vote.

does anyone know what i'm saying???

let's say that 1/3 of the US are gamers. and candidate A said something that if elected that they would do something with gaming to make the violince suckish or something.

but the thing is, could it mess with the polls. i mean if someone is on a border line between two people, could their view on gaming make that person's final decission.

There are so many issues out there right now that it is hard to say if this would have a -huge- impact in voting. I think it would have minimal impact because we are more worried about inflation, a recession, medical care, world politics and relations, the environment, etc. We'd have hope that if a president has views against video games that we can lobby to our senators and get them to vote against anything that would go against video games, as this is our power. We can write to our congressmen/women and senators and get changes to happen and with the proper support and voice, even a president can't take it away.

I don't -think- right now that any candidates truly have it out for video games. So I'm not sure if this would come to be an issue later. The one thing we can do to ensure it doesn't become an issue though is to verbally squash those who say they should be banned as that is our right to do. They can talk, but so we can we.

Of course that's going to happen. If our gaming state turns into one like in Aussie, where it takes months longer than it needs to in order to hit shelves, then it's really going to affect voters.

It's possible that it could affect it to the point where no one votes, also. Since the next-coming generation is gamers (not all of them, but a bigger chunk than usual).

I heard CLinton will ban every single game that has teh word "Violence" in the ratings on teh back. Also she will increase the ages of the people who wants to learn how to drive. What do you guys think? Would you choose the better life? Or the better life of other's opinion? I'd go for life (Obama).

well i would hope that most people would be smart enough to base their vote on something else than that, sure it would suck but it isnt what you would call life changing

everything that each candidate lobbies for and against will have people on the fence and will either win voters or lose voters. Right now i'm more worried about gas prices, because my money is moving more and more towards getting to and from work and school that being funneled to entertainment.

Granted that if president to be decides video games = evil, then i'd say good luck with that, and go back to my slowly growing stack of unfinished video games.

...Why would they go out of their way to do that? Do you know how many people would be protesting? Do you know how many assassination attempts would be planned out? Do you know--Do you know how many suicides would be committed in honor of video game heroes such as Master Chief and Link? How many people would go nuts? How many gaming companies would go out of business and become addicted to drugs? Do you know how many children would grow up misinformed and-and...gameless? Do you--Ug...No. No. Just no. I would die. No. They'd be on my 'People to kill' list.
I doubt it though, I mean...There are more important things in the world =/. Plus, there was a rumor that Bush would ban anime in the US if elected, and he didn't, did he?
