Hello all. I'm not totally sure if this is the right place to post this, since I'm brand new to this site, and all. Basically, I do not have Windows Media Player, due to the fact I have a Mac, and not a Windows computer. Is there a way I can still download files on this computer, or will I have to download the Windows Media Player, somehow, onto my computer?
I'm not quite sure what you are asking but it seems like you are asking about downloading videos and what program to play it on. Pretty much you can download the same videos on the PC, you can download it on a Mac. Macs have Quicktime player which pretty much works for most video files but if you are having issues playing something, you can always use VLC player. Hope this somewhat helps.
Oh, yes, I do use the VLC to download it, but it doesn't allow me to use it on iMovie. See, I want to do a fandub audition with some of the clips, but in order to do the voiceover, I need it to be placed in iMovie.
A few things. Firstly, Mplayer OSX Extended is by far the best player on Mac. I recommend using it over VLC. Secondly, you will need to convert the videos from whatever format they're in to an Apple format, such as .mov. ffmpegX or Handbrake, both freeware converters, can probably do this for you. Oh, and Quicktime Player is good for Mac formats only, unless you install Perian as an add-on. Even then, I'd still rather have Mplayer OSX Extended.
What are you using to convert? Which formats are the videos you download in? Have you got Flip4Mac installed?
