Chain of Memories Vexen: Important or no?

Why was vexen even need in C.O.M.? He ended up getting killed at not even in the end. So was he really needed? All he really did was just go on and on. So was vexen REALLY important?

 

He created Repliku.

His death helped convince Marluxia to trust Axel.

He almost revealed Roxas to Sora.

He did help confuse Sora.

So I say yes.


Besides, the majority of bad guys in any given game are killed throughout the game, never in the end except for the big bad boss.

 

Maleficent was killed before the end of Kingdom Hearts, does that make her unimportant? No; she's just one of the side villains until you got to Ansem. Think about any video game -- is there ever only one big bad boss guy? There's a lot of people you've got to take out before you get to the source of the evil.

 

True, plus he's the one who started the replica program. Without him Xion would've never existed so that means no Days, no explanation of why Roxas could use two keys, no explanation of why he went back to TWTNW after leaving, etc. He was important and plus he was one of the founding members of Org. XIII, one of Ansem the Wise's six assistants. He actually played a decent part in the series overall.

 

I think Vexen was important just to show how weird and creepy the orginization can get, and he like many before me have said, made Repliku and started the replica program., which in turn created Xion, which also shows Roxas' double key ability, and 358/2 Days.

 

and they needed a reason to kick him out cause i cant realy tell where he would have been in kh2

he made xion
He almost told sora who roxas is

If he wasn't important then they won't reveled anything in his past or what he did.

 

Vexen was basically the glue that put all the events together.
Without him and his "experiments" there would be major holes in the plot.
If any organization member was unimportant it would be Lexaeus, who's only contribution was a battle against Riku.

 

Or maybe he is. He was the only person that Zexion really trusted. He was also one of the founding apprentices that was forced to look for members because Xigbar was too lazy to do so.
