Just used Paint. =D I whipped 'em up quick for my sister and myself. Simple cropping and a bit of dimming or brightening. My sister saw the way I did mine (kind of like a comic strip) and she said she wanted hers in that style too. I don't really like it on the Lestat one (she likes it BECAUSE it looks like a comic strip, but I think it looks half-decent on my Twilight one. I like the way 'twilight' seems pressed down under the pics on mine. I tried it extended, but I didn't like the feel it gave the overall banner. Mine: My sister's:
Pictures put together like that never lok attractive. It should have a render and a background, because those pics really don't look good together.
