Two bad cycles for my mom. Usually we're around $120.

    November 2013 - December 2013: $169.18

    December 24, 2013 - January 28, 2014: $174.22
    • Flat Rate: $6.98
    • Electricity: $74.66
      - Consumption: 930 units
    • Water: $25.88
      - Consumption: 2,000 units
    • Sewer: $37.31
      - Consumption: 2,000 units
    • Gas: $29.39
      - Consumption: 9 units
The culprit is electricity, which is usually around $30-$35, but you can blame our heat pump's frequent defrost cycles due to weather for the high price. However, my mom is always prepared and willing to pay as high as $200 if necessary.

That and the electric companies raise the prices through the winter. I bet those corporate b*****ds are lining their pockets right now. To anyone working for or in charge of an electric company who frequents this site ... I wasn't talking about you guys. You guys are cool. I was talking about those other guys.

Honestly if you'll notice it's a re-occurrence. I'm sure your electric bill is higher every winter, this one in particular seeing how cold it's been.

It is. The January - February cycle is usually our high cycle. We had two good cycles before that, though. From end-September 2013 through end-October 2013, it was $116 and some cents; from end-October 2013 through end-November 2013, it was $113 and some cents.
