Usually I'm not a fan of stories having two separate sides

But after reading Kamisama no Iutoori and Kamisama no Iutoori II, I think I can get over that a little. I'm actually impressed at how these two stories came together. Usually I'm always having to take like 20 minutes or so replaying everything in my head to understand what went on when, but this was pretty easy, and it's a good book. Wonder if I shouldn't try watching the film too.....though japanese films are weird enough, and I'm wondering what this would look like as a live action film

I am the opposite, I mostly like stories with at least two sides show (like Song of Ice and fire, Basilisk, and most recently Tokyo Ghoul). It is pretty easy to develop feelings that we are looking at Good X Bad even in the real world (because we live in our point of view), to be in another's shoes is something that most people avoid/can't do it properly. Most times the conflicts are Good X Good, Bad X Bad or even more common naive X naive.
So It is a style of writing that I am very fond of, and I can bypass something to read a good story in this format.

Game of Thrones is an epic example of every story having two sides. It's great to have villains that you can't quite hate because they'e just as human as the rest of us. Unlike Lord of the Rings where all evil was black and gross and mutated.
