Spoiler Click Here The McDonnell Miller? Also, Amanda looks like Meryl. Possibly her mother. ... >: Looks like I'm finally getting a PSP.
I actually would like if Amanda would be Matt's wife. It would be awesome even. Who are those clones though i'm wondering. I don't quite get aything of the story for now.
Your right, I do see the similarities. It would be good if we knew some more background of Meryl and her family. What about young Roy? Do you think he maybe part of the some operation? I'm ignorant on the first MGS1, so i'm quite sure how significant Miller is, I mean I know that he gave S Snake some support but then it turned out that he was... I don't know how to use the spoiler function, but you know what I mean. Anyway if someone can explain, would be appreciated!
i been thinking of starting MGS but i dont really know what game to pick start from? or should i start from the 1st one? ;; anyways this game looks quite nice and seeing the demo was freaking awesome i mean, the cardboard tanks were too awesome
Campbell was in portable ops. He was in the green barrets before meeting Big Boss. and you know about Meryl's family. Spoiler Roy is actually Meryl's father because he had an affair with his brother matt's wife. Matt thought it was his child untill he died.
Yeah, obviously I know what you mean. But Master Miller was also in Metal Gear 2 (Note: That's not MGS2. It's before MGS1). And he was Snake's mentor. I'm deeply interested in seeing how this turns out with Big Boss. Plus he was pretty cool in MG2 :3 Yeah, definitely the first one if you can get your hands on it. (It's also on PC). Metal Gear 1 & 2 (Again, these are before Metal Gear Solid 1) aren't that significant to the story (But I played them anyhow) Or if you have a Gamecube/Wii, try getting Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes. It's basically a remake of MGS1. @Luka: Who the **** is this Matt you keep mentioning? Refresh my memory please. >_>
I can't wait to see what's the story on Strangelove. Simple character design and yet it interests me the most. Oh yea, and how awesome that Steven Hawking is in this game :D
Just start with MGS 1 and go in numerical order. Makes most sense that way. Metal Gear 1 and 2 are referenced enough to the point you don't really need to have played them to know the story. Amanda reminds me of Meryl (though I guess for obvious reasons) Finally get to see Miller in action. He better not disappoint either. Galvez looks like MGS4 Roy.
Well, I started it from Playing MGS3: Snake Eater. I didn't know anything about the plot before hand, apart from a few character names and a lil on what they look like. But I still loved the game and its story. Like others have said, try MGS1 if you can, I personally haven't found a copy in my price range. Instead I got the Graphic novel version for the PSP which tells generally the whole story. Work your way from there and you'll probably love it. Btw, don't try buying MGS4 as your first. My god, how confusing that will be. I know that, I just meant I wonder if a younger version of Roy will make an apperance in Peace Walker, maybe as an ally or not. I do have to admit, this Matt gut doesn't ring a bell, much. Ohhh, I get how he's important then. Could be Big Boss who 'encourages' Miller to take care of Solid Snake. Didn't think Miller was an Outer Heaven recruit though. I'm probably wrong.

Why can't they just give up? Metal Gear Solid is over guys. We don't need anymore sub-plot-prequel-sequels. It's over.
The future in development sub-plot-prequel-sequels MGS games says otherwise. Sure, they might be reaching the point of milking the game, but it's still a very enjoyable franchise with a huge fanbase.
I'm not saying MGS isn't fun I'm just saying that I think the story's already far too complicated and now they've got tons of PSP games that just confuse me further and really don't have any meaning towards the main story. I understood everything just fine playing through 1-4. I just think that at this point, they've gone too far.
Technically 3 if you count Portable Ops Plus. But yeah, it's not very many games and the story isn't that complicated. The PSP games are basically what missions happened next to Big Boss after Snake Eater. Or at least it looks that way to me.
Yeah it plays 6 years after MGS3 Spoiler and it tells you how FOX betrays the USA and how the Foxhound unit is made. It also tells you the beggining of the Patriots
