Underrated Superheroes

Because current obsession.

Daredevil, I would have to say. He started out another Spidey expy, but since his debut has grown into a character of his own special brand. I heavily suspect the fault for his lack of popularity lies in his less than inspiring rogues gallery. Truly an understatement, that - his villains tend to be Spiderman hand-me-downs, and are exceptionally unexceptional, with a few exceptions (Bullseye, Typhoid Mary, Echo, Purple Man). It also might just be that he does not appeal to Marvel's target audience, too dark and humourless. Indeed, I enjoy reading Daredevil, but it can become too much. It's hard to care about the involved characters when an event horizon has been passed, showing no hope for improvement.


tl;dr read DD in small doses

There are those spotlight stealers-- yea, you know who you are-- Batman, Spiderman, and Wolverine.
Then there are those lesser known characters, who deserve more love. Which characters do you consider to be vastly underrated?

 

I read as much comics as I wash my hands after going to the bathroom (which is a small percentage), but here are these two.

EDIT: Whoops, forgot to read the Underrated part. Ehe, but I suppose Psylocke can be considered underrated, since she's not prominent in any of the films.

Here's Daisy Johnson, aka "Quake." Kinda like Maria Hill. 'Cept more badass and with earthbending capabilities. : D

 

The Gladiator. Before him it was okay for Superman or Captain Marvel to lift a building despite the fact that it's not possible given the physical limitations of the building itself. This ****er, however, had his strength explained as a form of tactile telekinesis, a way underused power.

 

Nightcrawler. I always loved him, but everyone else I knew didn't care about him. :'c

 

Nightcrawler's my superhero crush. >.> <.<

 

Moon Knight, granted he's schizophrenic and kind of psycho, he's still the most easily relatable, and most fun to read in the Marvel universe.

 

Nightcrawler is a BAMF...

Ken the Eagle. Has never had a comic? Hasn't been in an anime since the late 70s?! In a fighting game where he was out-shined by Ryu from street Fighter?

I couldn't think of someone who deserves the award more!

 

Kitty Pryde. Love her sosososoososso much, and despite her role being bigger in X-men 3, it was still small and she's just amazing and they should have focused more on her.

 

That movie in general was just a suckfest for everyone...including Psylocke ._.

 

I dunno if he's counted as underrated, but Aquaman is commonly depicted to kinda.....suck. People tend to forget he can do this:

Green Arrow, man! When you think of DC heroes you think Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Power Girl (for two BIG reasons) but I promse you that Green Arrow would more likely would not be the first one you think off.
