    Chapter 1

Sam never felt secure. His parents always fighting, his ‘friends’ always teasing him, and no one to talk to. There was always a gang fighting some night or something, so it was hard to get to sleep at night. But that all changed. It all changed, when he met Recoma.
Recoma was a young boy, with blond, spiky hair that went to his shoulders. He had hazel eyes, and always wore either white or black.
Sam, on the other hand, had short, spiky black hair that went to his earlobes. He had hazel-blue eyes. He usually wore dark colored clothes.
Sam was walking to school, his last day, and came across Recoma. Recoma looked at him, and Sam looked back. Recoma blinked once, and asked, “Can I walk with you?†“Sure, I guess…†Sam said. So they walked to school. But what was strange to Sam was that they got along really well. They talked the whole way. Sam usually never talks. So they became friends.
It turns out, that after 2 whole years at High School, they had been in almost the exact same classes. They became sad, though, because it was the last day of school. So they couldn’t see each other for 3 months.
“But I live about five houses down from you, don’t I?†Recoma asked.
Sam thought for a second, from where they had met, must’ve been in front of Recoma’s house.
“Yeah, you’re right… you do live five houses away…†Sam said, trailing off. That house had been deserted for centuries… they say that a man used to live in that house, but he was a bad man… he was a murderer.

Lunchtime came quicker than Sam thought. It scared him, but then he remembered Recoma lives a few houses away. Sam and Recoma sat beside each other and ate their lunches. They had eaten them unusually fast, so they could talk more about what they liked. They had surprisingly found that they both liked tennis. So at tennis practice (a class) they tried out each other’s abilities.
They ended up being a good match for each other. They used topspin, backspin, deep balls, short balls, everything. They were perfect opponents for each other. They played each other perfectly.
After they had worn each other out in tennis, they had three more classes. Geography, English, and Math.

The final bell rang. That was it. School was out. Sam could hang with Recoma all day, everyday. This thought made Sam smile so much, his face hurt.
Sam caught up with Recoma after getting all his stuff from his locker, and they walked to Sam’s house.
When they got to Sam’s house, no one was home. Which was good for the both of them, because his mom was in a bad mood that day.
They reached Sam’s room, and opened the door. Recoma’s eyes widened. It was like a video game palace. There was anime stuff everywhere, and video games. Recoma smiled, and sat down.
“I love your room, Sam!†Recoma said.
“Thanks.†Sam said, while throwing his bag in his closet.
They both sat down in front of Sam’s Xbox 360 and started to play Gears of War, then they got on the PS2 and played the Kingdom Hearts games.
They played until 5:00, and then went downstairs to get a snack and something to drink when Sam’s mom walked through the door in a better mood that she was that morning.
Sam’s mom looked from Sam to Recoma to Sam. Then she asked, “Sam, who is this? One of your friends?â€
“Yeah, mom, this is Recoma. Recoma, this is my mom.†Sam said, as Recoma and Sam’s mom shook hands.
“We’re going tomy room, mom. Call us if you need us.†Sam said, as they both headed to his room to continue their raid of games.
